Eating meat is the #1 cause of climate change, so I became a vegan. Anyways, I think humanity is completely ****ed in the next couple decades, but at least I will be able to be super smug and tell everyone "I told you so" when everything goes to sh**.

Earth should spin faster so that there would be less variation between between night and day temperatures.  Temperatures would then be closer to the average temperature of the whole day.  This would make extreme temperatures less extreme.  For now, let's not worry about the other consequences.

The problem isn't meat eating... non-human carnivores and omnivores eat meat and yet no one gives a BLOOP.

(Also, vegetarianism is bad for the human spirit)

The problem is the human population has exceeded by far the capabilities of our planet... either develop real fast terraforming and space colonization and inhabitate the sh** out of the solar system, either war ourselves back to an acceptable population.

And both options seem glorious to me !

War in general would work as a much better way to reduce the population, but it could potentially destroy farmland. Terra-forming and space population wouldn't reduce the population enough.

Its funny right, we have the technology now to send people to places such as Mars and beyond but yet we have not reached the Moon in about 40 years. If we had kept going 40 years ago by now we probably would have had a colony on Mars and have had humans explore as far as Titan. The problem is that governments don't care as much anymore. They prefer talking about crap such as Hacking Scandals and laws that attempt to break the human population into far more classes than there already are. Also we have reached the breaking point of our population. 7 billion of us exist which is ridiculous. If you want a stable population I'd say about 2.5 billion at max.

Also wanna what would work. A controlled pandemic over Africa, most of the Middle East, China and India. Would work so much better than bloodshed.

However the West would have to convince them that its for the best, it would be quicker to just stop sending medication and military aid to those countries and watch them wipe each other out.

The human race giving up beef, and thus reducing the population of cows as such, would have more of a positive environmental impact than the entire planet giving up cars - plus the 28x land they need compared to say pigs or chickens in current welfare standards COULD be used for pigs or chickens. Or crops, youknow, but I know you would never side with the vegetarians :P

But that's killing of intelligent life, who one day could find the cure for cancer or another terrible disease, it's possible

Most of the areas listed simply don't have the technology for it. Lots of things have been 'killing intelligent life' and nobody gave a bloop then.

really

it's the keeping of the animals, all the pollution caused by the transporting of their food, the amount of methane they fart out, transporting the meat and storing it etc etc..

it's a perfectly legit reason to stop eating meat. I just enjoy it too much.

Also wanna what would work. A controlled pandemic over Africa, most of the Middle East, China and India. Would work so much better than bloodshed.

you do realise that china and india have the largest quantity of intelligent people based purely on population size, rite

would be better to kill all the stupid people

Lol that's a fair point. As sucky as cancer is, do we WANT the human population to be that much higher?

to craaig and marty : and why do we have so many animals and methane farts and stuff ? Large human population, that's why.

We are omnivores and meat (or fish, or insects, or any animal protein) is part of our diet.

I hear insects are far more efficient than beef for the calorie/kg of grass ratio, and less fat, and moar protein per kg... maybe we should be true omnivores ?

controlled pandemic over Africa, most of the Middle East, China and India. Would work so much better than bloodshed.

Controlled pandemics doesn't exist in a globalized civilization. Also, no pandemic will spread that far and be that far-reaching.

What will either happen will be a reduction/rarefication of resources and then civilization will slow down... or nations will start wars over the reducted resources... either famine or war... or civlization must learn to be efficient in order to avoid that.

However the West would have to convince them that its for the best, it would be quicker to just stop sending medication and military aid to those countries and watch them wipe each other out.
*facepalm* You can't convince a nation to destroy itself.

Or how about we build a Floating Continent! It would be awesome! But we would have to advance our technologies by about of thousand of years.
