Oh joy, Badger un-bricked his PC. Still halp pls.
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:59:58 AM »
So, in my infinite wisdom, I decided to fiddle with the BIOS of my PC for no good reason. Result: I bricked it.

Anyone know if I can reset my BIOS somehow? I have a Maximus IV Gene-Z Motherboard, and I heard that you can reset the BIOS via USB, if that helps.

I'm also trying to follow this tutorial on how to reset the BIOS, and I'm stuck on step 3, "Find the 3-pin jumper near the power supply on the motherboard, typically labeled "Clear CMOS" or "Reset BIOS"". Where the heck is that? If you can point it out on the pic below, I would be very grateful.

Also, what do these buttons do?

At least I've learned something about computers from all this. Don't go dicking around with your BIOS.

Nevermind, I managed to fix it by being incredibly awesome at computers

But I would love to know what that big red button does.

I would have to assume it starts something. North Korea's nuclear strikes?

Isn't it just common sense to not screw with something when you have no clue what you're doing?

I will say my laptop no longer connects to wifi because I was trying to set up a LAN connection and now it's IPV6 is corrupted.

I learned my lesson, I hope you did too.

maybe it starts and resets the computer? you know, maybe like what the buttons say?
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

I thought that was the 'On' button's job? I don't know anyone who starts their PC by doing the following:

1) Unscrew 2 screws
2) Remove 1 side of PC case
3) Press Start button
4) Replace side of PC case
5) Re-screw screws
