If you want to keep stock going you could host a stock tournament. Try to get people into it.

In truth only 7 people entered Wen and a Damned War. But apart from me and the other six users, no one else decided to make a ra2cf stock SHW. Though often I do point to the main problem being that the large majority of this forum and it's users has more interest in DSL-IRL building most of the time, and when a Stock tournament does happen, it ends up being a Stock MW tournament because no one else has an interest in Stock building above MWs. I'm aware the last statement isn't 100% correct, knowing that some users still show more variety in bot building by building in other metas and Stock Weight classes, but this is what the forum has mainly descended into: DSL IRL building or Stock MW building for the better or worse on how you view the situation. Is this part of your art project?he did, and nobody entered. :gawe:

Yea nobody enters ra2cf stock SHW tournaments.
In truth only 7 people entered Wen and a Damned War.I got deadgecondue bot and its already 8 people
Can i change rule in the wen and a damned war and rerun it immediately becuaseYou should be allowed to run it as just a regular 8-man double elimination tournament, in my opinion.

I think with regards to why DSL IRL is so played now, especially in 2017 is mainly because its just so easy to get into compared to the other metagames currently. Stock's suffering from severe stagnation right now, with most of the builds now being the same bot types with a few things changed (HS/VS/Popup/the occasional stiltbot/SnS if they're allowed). DSL-S in 2.2 suffers from balancing problems which is why mechavore flywheels and other replica weapons reign dominant and Ironforge is the most balanced of the competitive metagames right now, but tends to have flippers reign supreme in arenas with OotA zones.
With DSL-IRL, most of the people look at this and tend to have their own design ethos, and along with the enormous variety in robot designs right now, its easy to see why DSL-IRL is so often played. With RA2CF and other stuff, IRL's possibilities have become almost limitless, with the limit being the havok engine. :P
I'm not saying that I won't enter TWatDW - hell, I may try to build something if I have the chance to, but theres a reason so few are going to other metagames now in 2017, with some exceptions like Revolution 2 and RA2 Mafia.
IRL is straight cancer, it's bred more (((toxic))) users than any meme circlejerk discord server ever could.
Literally prove me wrong, you can't.

really? cmon guys, i thought you had better troll-detection skills than this. it's obviously a joke.

a small Stock MW tourney would be welcome

But it has generated users. It’s an unfair comparison, you are essentially comparing taking “two steps forward and one step backwards” to taking no steps at all and saying taking no steps at all is better because it doesn’t have that “toxic” step backwards.Counterpoint: The user count, post count, meaningful tournament count, etc is still pathetic compared to 2009-2012 or even 2008 (we changed forum software so the old data is probably gone).
Why are people still posting in this thread?

Aye - I remember that back when I used to build (so, 2010-12, nothing special) that the trend away from Stock was already starting. I think back then was when DSL-IRL started to get some attention - Freeziez did a series of tournaments (Battlebots?) which seemed to be one of the most popular around at the time.
