you seriously need to watch this if you haven't i used to be like "lel anime is ghey" but this is really good

Yeah NGE is pretty awesome, although a mind**** occasionally.

also, Fist of the North Star ? Gurren Lagann ? Berserk ? Black Lagoon ? Cowboy Bebop ? Samurai Champloo ? Ghost in the Shell ?

Plenty of good and manly anime around, it's sad that people think all anime is evil because they are exposed to the kawaii uguuu~ overly-cute bullsh**.

it's weird and you can definitely see it's influences on stuff like Serial Experiments Lain and so on in terms of atmosphere

Like 90% of darker and edgier anime are based on Evangelion in some way.
