I need to start playing my NASCAR 2005 Chase for the cup

I used to have 2005, it was half decent at least. If anything I liked the soundtrack and the car customization.

You should get Nascar Racing 2003, it's by far the best Nascar sim.

I wish PAL regions didn't get shat on with the lack of NASCAR games. We only got 2006: Total Team Control through 09, the last of which was ridiculously rare for PS2. Every game before that was NTSC only, even gems like Dirt to Daytona. We luckily got the PS1 games though (98 - 2001), but that's about it.

I haven't played a Nascar game in a while, not to say that I still don't like Nascar, but the last couple games haven't been very appealing to me. I believe the last one that I played that I really liked was Nascar 09 by EA sports. I loved being able to paint my cars in anyway I wanted.

I had it and there was no freedom at all when compared to the Sierra games' paint shop.

Wait is there a game that I missed here. The one I am referring to allowed you to use your computer to edit the paint of any car that you wanted. The customization was literally endless you could make the car look however you wanted.

I am confused here. You say it only had templates, but what else do you need? I mean you could grab yourself a template, paint.net, and a copy of AC3D and your ready to go. The customization for unlimited. There was no aspect of paint that couldn't be created. I don't remember the first game that had this feature, but after looking the last one was Nascar 09. Either way all this Nascar talk has got me feeling fast..... Like Rick Bobby.

Oh yeah... I was thinking of a different year's release. They're all the same anyway. But yeah, I remember reading something about being able to transfer paint schemes from your PC.

But get NASCAR Racing 2003 Season for PC. They make a new Cup Series mod every year so it's always up to date. and there's tons of other mods like rally racing and dirt track. It will cost a bit if you don't just torrent it.

After a quick look on ebay, anywhere from 70 to 90 US dollars.

Yeah, I paid $80 for mine.

It's expensive for a couple reasons... The first reason being that there weren't as many made as planned. EA Sports got the exclusive rights to all NASCAR branding on video games and simulators in early 2003, forcing Sierra to halt production of their game. Which brings up the second reason of it being, in most peoples' opinions, the better of the two games. It is still highly sought after by racing sim enthusiasts.

Oh and I should mention that iRacing was originally based off of the NR2003 source code, and still contains much of the same code.

You don't. iRacing is a pay-to-play simulator. You have to pay a monthly membership like with WoW.
