Dude, by only telling us "ZOMG MY SOUND DOESN'T WORK" and telling us what to do, you are NOT going to recieve any kind of help.

For a start, it wouldn't hurt to tell eu what OS you are runnning, what si exacyl ahppening,w hen did this start to happen, have you tried reinstalling your OS (if you're running Windows)...
Describe the ****ing problem.

Yeah, that's a good idea, however that's more like fixing the outcome and not the source of the problem. :P

Well lets see, Do u know how to get into the Master sound control?
If not, double click on the thing that looks like a speaker on the bottom right of ur comp. U will find that 1 of the wave sounds will be all the way down, turn that all the way up, that happens to me when and after I play RA2 as well......

GOT THAT?

yeah like DK just said, open up master volume (from the tool tray) and check all the volume switches, I found Wave sometimes gets muted at random times

Wrong! XP is the best if want to run games without needing to install gazillion different things.

I tried Ubuntu and had a total Linux fan helping me over the internet and even he gave up on it. He said that he didnt feel like writing a 100 page list on what to install.

That is not true, For my xp  is crap, while the one I play games on is a Vista, and most games work fine on it without lag. Cept Left4dead, for it keeps crashing.
Vista isn't too bad, Just way confusing at the start. I wanna get windows 7 though

Mac is ... err pretty to look at ? it takes the most simple things and turns them into unnecessarily complicated tasks.

your XP computer is crap or you XP OS ? I have an xp thats crap.. but thats because of the 512mb ram and 40Gb hard drive not the OS (and thats why its pushed over to the side to make way for the high end one :P)

funny fact:

there is a company store chain in Australia called "Vista Window Coverings" http://www.vistablinds.com.au/ it was around before MS made Vista, so you call tell how seriously we took the new OS :P
