Post by: ashman12 on November 05, 2009, 05:58:14 PM
hi
recently i have started drawing images of cars on A4 sized graph paper.
they arent real cars and they are more the type that boy racers drive about in.

ive got other ones that are like half finished.(ones that i have doodled at school in P7 and stuff.

here they are.

Hehehe. I still remember those good times where you just doodle around when the discussions get boring...

Anyway, you should try controlling your hand a bit more when drawing curves. Even simple car drawings look awesome if no squiggly lines are present. :D

And if you're daring enough, you can jump to practicing 3D drawing! XD

I remember drawing plenty of cars like that. I've since moved onto more realistic 3d cars in one point perspective, you should give it a shot.

@ pwnator : most of them are older ones that i have done without a ruler because i like to draw freehand.

ive got some newer ones that i have started and will upload after finishing.

Hi, not sure rather or not this is on topics, but here's something that can to make your car image look better.

1.  Use the auto contrast tool
2.  Use the resize and crop tool so the image fits on the screen

And here's the result

IDK if you already know about this, but you might want to try the "fingerdrawing" thing - after you draw a line you brush it repeatedly with your finger like if you were using a rubber.

It makes awesome effects.

I am talking about spreading the color (or graphite, works better) with your finger on the sheet, just like if you were erasing it with your finger.

I did it with pen and used the pen cap as my finger.

I personally don't like smudging.  It usually comes out better if you work with the strokes and textures of the medium you use.

I use smudging once in a while for certain things like smoke.

I used smudging in art classes but I used s particular pencil called a "progresso" it was solid graphite and could come out at all types of shades
