Right so now I need help. I've port fowarded etc and no-one can connect except for me. Whenever I check my IP address, it says I'm from Hartlepool. >)> I have a feeling that that's the problem. I'm using a dynamic IP as I do not have a static one.

Have you forwarded 25565? And apparently my IP is in Scotland, so I don't think you need to worry about that.

Check that you're giving them the correct IP as well.

Any more details? What error comes up when your friends attempt to connect?

Right, this isn't really about the java, but I don't think we need another thread.

So, I'm making a Minecraft server for me and a few friends, and they can't connect.

Properties.txt;

Code: [Select]

#Minecraft server properties
#Tue Sep 06 22:01:47 BST 2011
level-name=CarOverlordsPrivateSMP world
allow-nether=true
view-distance=10
spawn-monsters=true
online-mode=true
spawn-animals=true
max-players=4
server-ip=192.168.0.2
pvp=true
level-seed=
server-port=25565
allow-flight=enabled
white-list=false

I've port forwarded with SimplePortForwarding, and it doesn't give any errors. 25565 is open on both TCP/UCP (Sorry for incorrect use of terminology), except when I'm running the server .exe, when apparently TCP is closed because it is being used (Presumably by minecraft)

No errors come up on the server.exe window, and I can join the server but it seems that no-one else can. I am using a Sagem router with Sky firmware, if it matters. Also, I don't think I have a static IP.

Thanks in advance for your help and patience with a retard. ;)

What does it say for port 25565 when running the server?

No route to host.

I got it working a few weeks ago, but it broke again.

Your ISP sucks and might now allow incoming connections (and/or doesn't care enough about it to make sure they work). Can you give me your IP address (PM me if for some reason you're scared of posting it here)? Maybe we could figure something out.

Yeah, this is something with your ISP not allowing you to host services. Sorry :(.

Hmmm, funny, the server worked with the same settings a few weeks ago, I had my friend on the server as well. I'll try to port forward again, to see if that's screwing me over.
