Title: Microsoft Outlook error message!
Post by: Gazea2 on September 22, 2010, 10:37:15 AM: On my Mom's netbook, she can't send e-mails. She keeps getting an error message saying:

"Task 'pop.gmail - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC7D) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) server does not support SSL-secured connections. If SSL-secured connections have worked in the past, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)."

I've tried many fixes (including changing her outgoing mail server from smtp.gmail.com to smtp.googlemail.com and changing the outgoing port to 465) and it still isn't working.

I was wondering whether any of you guys had had the same problem and if you know how to fix it?

P.S - On the main computer in the house you can send messages. The main computers OS is Xp whilst my Mom's netbook is Windows 7.

That was the first result when I googled the error code.

Check c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (open up in notepad), paste contents here.
