Since actually some people seem to like the idea, I'd like to know if such a radio was made to exist (I have a server waiting just for that), would anyone submit songs / DJ? And more importantly, would anyone listen?

as for who would listen. anyone with interest. i know i would listen, but i wouldn't know for how long. i do think this is a nice idea.

I was a radio DJ for 5 years. I totally encourage you all to get into it! Pick out a solid time slot, stick to it and tell your friends to listen. When they give you feedback on your radio show... it's the best feeling.

Makes things easier when I dont feel like looking trough over 8000 songs. (i know thats a small amount but do note that I deleted all 90 000 less than minute long songs and sounds + those artists that I dont like in my list at all.

I have been told I have a wonderful radio voice ("Very soothing," being the most common compliment), but I'm not sure I have the time.

Post by: powerrave on August 26, 2010, 03:44:26 AM: yesterday evening i wanted to announce that i was going to shut down, thus close the stream, but... when i wanted to plug the pc into the screen, my pc crashed and the fans were spinning at an extremely high speed, they were very loud. nothing inside overheated as far as i were able to feel with my bare hands (that's kinda how reckless i can be). all i did before was playing something on my PS3. and changing DVI plug hasn't been a problem before. oh well, i'll get the stream back up now. http://nectarine.q3k.org:1240/ (http://nectarine.q3k.org:1240/)

and sparkey, Radioactivity isn't that good. i have listened to it and it's even in the list, but it's not good.

Yesterday I hacked until 4AM and I now have a server to which DJs connect, each with heir own username & password, and from there they can take over the stream, add songs to and from the queue, speak via a mike, play a song from the server, have full control over it.

When no DJ is present and when the queue is emptied, the system shut downs and switches to a public web interface, from which you, the users, can vote on songs upload them, comment on them, and queue them yourselves.

If you dont like it because it is old music then you have a really bad taste of music in my opinion.

But that might be because i like to listen to any and every type of music/song.

Rocket Man - Elton John is whats currently on and its great.
