This has nothing to do with RA2 but its the only tech support I see.
Anyway I dug up an old laptop of mine. It dosn't work well because when I was little I got a ton of virus's on it. So now I decided to use it. I went on my old user and tried to search something and it says "Error 404 Page not found" It does this when I type in the URL too.
So then I decided to just create a new user. That didn't fix the problem either. Can someone help me fix this so I can surf the web again?
Thanks,
Your worst computer guy,

Tried seeing if your internet connection works
-
try removing the viruses with an anti virus too just to be safe
if you dont have one you can copy+paste the installer for one from another computer and remove them with the newly installed av

The internet does work.
Strange thing is, is that its only that user. Other users work fine.

Which browser?
-
IE

Get another browser. See if Chrome or firefox portable work. It's worth a try.
Assuming it's win7, go to the control panel, then networks and connections, then try setting up a new connection.

Perhaps it's overstringent parental controls, if it's only for one user. Try checking to see what is being blocked, and unblock IE if it is being.
Also, you want the Software & Computers section for this thread. =)

Whoops. Sorry bout that (I knew their had to be a tech support section)
I am using wXP. And its not parental since I'm admin.
Also Google Chrome and FF. Which is better, and are they free? (I never stray from IE)

Both are free. In fact, all major Internet Browsers are free. You can also try Safari (Default browser on iMacs) or Opera (Optimised for very slow Internet speeds.)
Try both, you can get Chrome from here (https://www.google.com/chrome?hl=en) and Firefox from here (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/). It's all personal opinion. Most people prefer Chrome, although lately Firefox has been more reliable for me.
I recommend to re-set-up your Internet connection as well. Look in the Control Panel for Internet related stuff.
Oh, and I wrote this on my crash-happy iPod, just to let you know.
3rd edit:
Oh, and Internet Explorer is only useful for downloading other browsers. ;)

Yeah using IE is asking for viruses.
Trust me, I know first hand.
