As previously mentioned, I don't really beer, but last week I bought one of these, for obvious reasons

It now sits in my cupboard with a few ciders, awaiting it's time.

Cheated on cider by having a Doom Bar with a pub lunch today. It wasn't bad.

I hate it when Doom Bars are mentioned around my friends because all make the over-used joke that I make the beer (my last name is Sharp.)

was it actually pumpkin flavored ? that must be odd
It's actually brewed from pumpkins. It has hints of pumpkin and cinnamon. Basically, a pumpkin spice beer.
im just waiting for meganerdbomb to come along and kick things into gear.

So they ferment the starch/carbohydrates from pumpkins ? hmm, i thought beer had to be brewed from some sort of cereal

This Trooper is really good, and I'm not a beer person.

Dogfish Head 90-minute IPA is fantastic!

It's a bit pricy, and only comes in a four pack, but it's 9% alcohol, so you'll need fewer beers to get the job done.

Also worth mentioning, but not as good: Old Rasputin

I don't really have a taste for beer. I don't like the bitter taste of most of the big name brews, but I'd like to find some kind of beer that I can stand to drink. What would you guys suggest for me?

Anything Belgian and German is, most of the time, good.

I've tasted good things from the micro-breweries in my time in America.

If it's a cheap, mass produced beer it's most likely piss.

Beer is honest: you get what you pay for. There ARE some average, overpriced beers and there are some decent cheap beers, but overall it's that.

Current beer of choice

Lacks the bitterness I find in a lot of British stuff.

Fursty Ferret has been my go-to beer for the past little while aswell, about one of the only beers i can actually hold (Beer just doesnt agree with me, makes me feel ill regardless of how little of it i drink). Besides Fursty Ferret the only ones that ive been able to stand were the Iron Maiden Trooper, which unfortunately is a rare find around my area, and another one that escapes my mind currently.

More of a Whiskey drinker myself, although for casual drinking i tend to stick to Cider (Again, inability to hold beer)

And I've had this before a few times:

I don't recommend Chang, it's an alright "beer" *cough*lager*cough*. I've drank Chang at a few Everton FC games at Goodison Park... soo yeah (COYB)

Though Banks's is good drink imo

Bump.... I tried Landshark tonight for this first time and surprisingly really enjoyed it. I can't really find the words to describe it, but if you find yourself in a store looking for something to drink and you see it on the shelf I recommend it. Nothing quenches a thirst after work like some cold ones.
