Just thought a generalized thread for 2012 festivals would be awesome, and this is an appropriate time to commence:
Metallica have just been announced for Download UK 2012, playing Metallica (The Black Album) in full! Should be awesome for anyone going...
-
Only festivals or any concerts?
-
Preferably Festivals - will probably be a wide enough topic of conversations without adding general gigs... however that's a great idea (must go make new thread).

Looking good so far.

Not feelin' it myself, the only act I particularly like there is Alice Cooper, and I saw him at Soni 2010 :')

yah it be too br00tal for you or somethin'
Yeah, I was impressed by this years Bloodstock lineup too. Overall pretty nice mix of metal styles.
-
'Tallica, Black Sabbath and Prodigy for Download then - is it just me or are they announcing very quickly, possibly to get in before Soni and get more ticket sales? Should be alright though, Prodigy will be awesome.
-
Exciting to see Black Sabbath there. I'm guessing they'll be doing Ozzy-era stuff (would be suicidal or impossible to play Dio era or later methinks)

Strangest festival line-up ever...

Alestorm is reason enough for me to go considering how great they were last year (too bad those who saw Limp Bizkit instead :p)

I sat in my tent :3

Lol Gojira aren't that bad.

That wasn't supposed to be a shot at Gojira. Was just pointing out that Queen and Gojira are a bit of an... odd combination xD

Well, the stage has plenty of middle ground too (The Darkness) so I think it's not too strange.
-
When you remember at Soni Apollo and Saturn operate on a 'flip-flop' kinda thing (one plays, then the other, making them essentially equal stages, just allowing less gaps), it does look quite interesting.
-
Yes, because The Darkness has a long, storied history of making things less strange.
