Title: DUal Monitors question
Post by: Resetti's Replicas on April 06, 2014, 04:04:16 PM
I was hoping to run dual monitors on my pc, but it only had one of each DVI-I & DVI-D port.  Do I have to buy a whole new graphics card with two ports, or can I get a second identical graphics card to make it work?

Alternatively, what's a good single card for running dual monitors?

I advise a GTX 660 > for 2 monitors, and with that, you only need 1 card. (Has HDMI And DVI) What's your Current Card?

To make the same output, just buy a DVI to HDMI adapter (DVI-HDMI)

What about a HDMI-VGA adapter?  Would that work?

EDIT: here's the product page for reference

It should be fine  ;) , remember it does take a lot of graphical and processing power to run two monitors.

Yes, that would work fine. I'm using an HDMI to DVI adapter in mine, myself.

get a 4gb version of a GPU and your problem is solved!

I got it resolved, it turns out all I needed was one DVI-D cable and one VGA with a DVI-I adapter.  I was surprised that none of the online tutorials could straight up tell me that.
