I think you've got the wrong thread.

As many of you know, I'm a horror movie buff, so choosing a favorite is a bit difficult. I guess I'll go with the George A. Romero "...of the Dead" series. Instead of just mindless violence and feasting on flesh, Romero's zombie movies (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead, and the upcoming Survival of the Dead) all feature some serious social commentary, and use zombies only as a metaphor. That is where the remakes of his movies all fail (except for the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, where Romero served as an executive producer and wrote the updated screenplay).

I also love the saw series, the seventh one might be in 3-D  .

I saw Saw 1 (see what I did there?) in the theaters on Halloween back in '04. I was only 16, but they didn't ask to see my ID, so it was all good. The movie was no good, though. I found the thing to be a bore, and predicted that the "dead man" in the middle wasn't dead right when they showed him. As the laws of horror movies go, if a horror movie doesn't show the person die, they are definitely not dead.

I'm not sure. It was his own fault for letting it happen. The only death that wasn't the child's fault was Robert's. Michael caused the gate to fall on him.

Oh, and even though it was a revolting scene, I did also think to myself-

"Condensation from chilled beverage
 +

Randomly dripping into a system which adjusts temperature
= Increasing temperature

Increasing temperature t/f causes reaction + movement from bland teenagers
+

Random hatstand falling and blocking exits
= Deathtrap

Deathdrap t/f causes death to two bland teenagers =
HOW THE FRICK IS ALL THAT POSSIBLE IN THE SHORT SPACE OF TIME?"

Suppose. Although I do wonder how the gate could've killed Robert. That thing didn't look terribly heavy to me.

It hit him in the neck. Probably, with the amount of force, it would be able to kill him. But I'm still unsure how heavy the gate was.

Well we all know that Lionsgate is squeezing another movie form the tropical SAW citrus fruit. Any predictions on what is to come...
Mine are...
1. 3-D (like every other movie)
2. Kramer's Wife will get tortured because of the letter she picked for Hoffman
3. An amusement park lair (they already used a bathroom, a house, a meat factory, an ice factory, abandoned sewer lines, and  an abandoned zoo)
4. More horrible acting
5. Better special effects (just from looking at each movie and how it is improving)
6. DITCH THE DOLL!!!!!

Doom 3 is a game, not a movie...
ABOUT TWENTY YEARS AGO, Disney released a movie called TRON, a neon-lit fantasy about life inside a videogame. At the moment, however, I've got one up on Jeff Bridges. I'm standing on the set of the upcoming DOOM film, and, as someone who played all the way through DOOM 3, it's quite a surreal experience. From the dark hallways of the UAC facility to the caverns of the archaeological dig site down to the textures of the corridors, it's as if someone got permission to build a DOOM 3 theme park and tried to rebuild areas of the game brick by brick. It is about as close to standing inside a videogame as one could imagine.

The movie's set, however, is only one small part of the story, which, after years of being talked about, is finally set to hit theaters this October. In addition to visiting the set, we had a chance to meet with the movie's stars and producers, who all seem dedicated to making DOOM the first movie based on a videogame to finally, well, not suck.

My overview of the first 8 minutes in 10 points.
1. YES DR.GORDON IS ALIVE
2. Dr Gordon heals his nub by putting it up to a heating pipe
3. Cut to a big city
4. people surrounding a giant glass display
5. 2 people shackled to a table saw with 2 facing each other and a third one in the middle
6. The Doll rolls in and tells them that they were both dating the same woman at the same time and a box reveals the woman above the middle saw
7. The 2 men must push the table at each other and kill the other so they can save the woman from the middle saw
8. Man #1 gets clipped
9. The woman is trying to get one to kill the other
10. both of the the men realize that the woman is using them to save her so they sat and look pretty while the woman was lowered to her gory doom!

KILLER KLOWNZ FROM OUTER SPACE

Mmmmm cotton candy.

Just saw the 1990 version of "Night of the Living Dead" and I was really surprised how awesome it is.

Here are some suggestions straight out of my DVD collection:

Battle Royale http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266308/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266308/)
Read the Book too!

Repo The Genetic Opera http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0963194/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0963194/)
Strange... very strange.

Perfume http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396171/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396171/)
Delightfully disturbing!

Nochnoi Dozor
(Night Watch) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403358/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403358/)
Russian awesomeness.

28 Days Later http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/)
Brilliant.

Maximum Overdrive http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091499/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091499/)
Brilliantly cheesy! A must for AC/DC fans as well.

Haha! I own the Tremors Box set with all four movies XD  I totally agree. The first one is great (the rest are cheesy fluffy)

Resident Evil isn't a very "well done" movie, but it is really entertaining to watch.  Probably one of my most watched DVDs I own.

BUMP

Planning on seeing Devil, idk if it can be considered a horror movie for 5 reasons

1. M. Night Shyamalan
2. Its PG-13
3. M. Night Shyamalan
4. Trailer showed some rather bad acting
5. M. Night Shyamalan
...

One more thing, do not, and I mean NOT, watch The Human Centipede...

I've heard of it.

I saw Devil, it was pretty decent actually, the narration was kind of annoying but I liked it. And the Devil was the one person I least expected..sorta.

The Human Centapead.

That's not a horror film, that's just VERY obscure porn.

Sleepy Hollow does, but Sweeney Todd is more of a Thriller.

Barack Obama's presidential address.

I win.

Okay, just kidding.  I got y'all beat, anyway: "From Dusk Till Dawn."  Ain't nothin' like sexy vampire strippers in a Mexican nightclub.  (Semla Hayek is a hottie!)

"Maximum Overdrive" was great, and stayed pretty true to the original Stephen King story, "Trucks."  I liked the psychotic soda machine. :)

"House of Wax" was okay, not great, but seeing Paris Hilton in a negligee was worth it. :P

However, no one has mentioned the ULTIMATE horror movie: The Rocky Horror Picture Show !!!!!

Considering Stephen King also wrote the screenplay and directed the movie, I think that was to be expected.

DP and BUMP (well how about that)
I just recently got back from watching Saw 3D, it wasn't that bad but I felt it was more leaned towards a typical slasher/torture porn movie...but I liked it.

You actually liked it?I got bored them around saw 3.Its like its only torture and gore with a crap plot that ties it all up in a turd covered bow.

Meh, at least this movie can only make sense if you've seen the other 6. I liked it a bit but at the same time I was rather disappointed for certain reasons.
