I need some program to record audio files on my computer but I cannot find any good programs that are free. I tried NCH software but after two weeks it said that my trial was over. So does anyone know where a good free audio recording is and can they point me toward it?

Audacity seems to work fairly well for most people. It's free too.

The one I have used a few times is Audacity. It's really easy to use, even to a relative audio newbie like I am.
Here's the link for the program:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
EDIT: I see we're hiveminding here.

Thanks I'll try it out soon

I'd try Aud- ah. I see I've been beaten.

I may get Au- oh never mind xD

Free stuff like Audacity is a good place to start, but once you have the cash I'd recommend something like Samplitude or Garageband.

Yeah, seeing your name in gold is highly unlikely.

You should try out the 1.3 Beta version of Audacity, which I use.
If you want to record your voice, you'll need a microphone, though.
