Title: Animated .gifs
Post by: HurricaneAndrew on August 24, 2009, 05:24:30 PM
What software do I need to use to make an animated .gif image?

I have Photoshop 7.0 and PhotoImpression 5. Can I use either of these to make one? If so, how?

I use Game Maker. Although I don't know if that will help you.

Pivot is a dirt simple stick figure animator.  It saves stuff a .gif's.  and by using the Use Bitmap As Background tool, you should be able to do animations of other stuff.

its free, get Pivot here: http://pivot-stickfigure-animator.en.softonic.com/

Macromedia/ Adobe Flash (Macromedia Flash 8 is the best imo but CS4 is ment to be quite good) it might start out complicated but its really powerful if you get the hang of it.. I make my sig/ avatar with it

also for animations that you just want to flick through images I use easy gif animator :-D

both you have to buy but both worth the money

Yeah, I use Flash to make my avatars, but if there's something you want with just plain images changing, gickr.com is good.

Well, I have figured out that I have Adobe ImageReady, which is apparently an animation program...

Now I just need to figure out how to work the thing.

Isn't Flash 400 dollars? That's kinda extreme for just making pictures. Movies and games I can see it, but still...
