3D modeling programs - Best? Easiest?
« on: June 28, 2006, 04:55:32 AM »
Hi, guys -

I am looking for help on programs for 3D modelling, like the ones used here in the game, among other things.  I'd like to create some custom stuff, too, and would appreciate any feedback on which programs would be the best/easiest to use.

Thanks!

Try blender. It's free and kicks ass.

Blender?  Never heard of that one before... do you have a website for it, or should I just google it?

I started with Anim8or, it's free and pretty easy.  Now I have Rhino 3D.

Pretty sure it's an older version of 3DS Max that works for RA2.

As far as cad in general, I use Rhino3D and Solidworks. Rhino gets used as a 3d sketching tool and Solidworks is where I take care of the fine details.

Use Blender, it's free and really powerful. Takes time getting used to though.
