I have finished the robot Wheelosaurus, built by Peter Gibson for Robot Wars. Now, how do I get it into Robot Arena 2?
-
ummmm
you kida need to create each component(wheel extender wep) and then import those into ra2.
nice cad though.

Thanks :). I did my best to recreate this robot. I hope somebody could import this robot into Robot Arena 2: Design & Destroy for me :).

you can try to do it with clicks tutorial, but that will be hard for those wheel things.

Why will the wheels be difficult?
-
they are round and complicated.

Ok.

But dont be too disapointed if he cant help, what with DSL 3.0 and all...

No offense but if you want something done (this goes for everyone) spend the time to learn how to do it yourself. Right now, most of RA2's modders are working as fast and hard as they can on other things (while still having a life outside of RA2).
If you are using 3DS Max to make your CADs, you can follow the instructions on the wiki to make each component into GMF files.
If you don't have 3DS Max, you can try to remake similar GMF objects into each of the components of your bot using the tutorial on the beetlebros site. DSL has a variety of components that you can use as your base to make your components. If you need help getting started, feel free to contact me (via whatever).

I have 3ds Max. It's just that I need to learn how to import the robot into the game, with wheels, chassis and everything else.

The only problem is that Dumee's reference model is not available, so I can't do the tutorial.
-
Dummy's reference bot is just too see the size reference of the part you are making and it does not export when useing the official exporter, BUT is is in the data base under "Tools" https://gametechmods.com/?do=RA2_Downloads
You MUST make and export the parts one at a time. if you have a part that looks like two peices, they must be connected, or put on the bot one at a time as ONLY one part can be exported at a time. Wheels are VERY hard to make and you must make the chassis ingame and maybe add a shell to it that looks like the chassis. AAM is usually needed to make a good replica bot so that the collision will be intact.

Is it okay if I add you to my messenger?
-
You can, but I am not on very often. The best thing to do is read all the tutorials and topics about exporting to the game. If you have Max 4.2 or 5.1 you can read all about it in the tutorials section at https://gametechmods.com
The WIKI has a section abot it too, but my internet is so slow here at work I will never find it, so you will have to look your self.
-
Ok. But I have 3ds Max 2010, will I still be able to export my robot (Wheelosaurus) to Robot Arena 2?
-
You will NEVER be able to export your robot.......you can ONLY export components one at a time and you are NOT reading like I told you or you would KNOW that you can't use 2010 to export your components.
-
Ok. I mean exporting my components. I need to find an older version of 3ds Max then.
-
@ACAMS: Serge made a tutorial on the wiki that allows any version of 3DS Max capable of exporting components that can be used in RA2.
@SkullKid2000: Make sure that you are exporting each component seperately.
