RFS, you should start a showcase.

I posted one a while ago in the Stock forum. I don't have anything new to add to it save for what I am putting together for this AI pack. The pictures I have left of all of my robots are ones that I've posted and reposted many times in the past, there's nothing new. =/

edit: It seems all of the pictures I posted in my gallery thread were hosted on GatorAIDS and have been deleted. I'll re-upload them later or something.

The kinds of stuff I put together are largely unappreciated these days anyways, I have no desire to post a showcase because I know in doing so SOMEONE is eventually going to come around and red-line my designs, which I do not appreciate.
The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

Don't really have a teaser post for ya'll, I have a question though, perhaps for someone experienced in the realm of glitches and physics mishaps of the game.

I've got a Middleweight robot (Excelsior Stretch) that... well it has 3 pistons stacked as one to give its weapon an insane reach. It has two of these setups, actually. The robot works fine in the Garage, but when it's put into a fight as a human controlled robot it just vanishes at the start of the fight and is counted out. Any reason why? Or should I scrap the overly bizarre weaponry in favor or something else? Thanks.

I know a cool glitch bot you could turn it into
attatch a T conector on the side to a piston, then attatch another piston to it, if the conection point diaspeers, you did it right. And hopefully, it will havoc around the arena when you fire it. It worked for me, at least.

That's not the effect I want. I wanted it to be a pneumatic weapon with a crazy long reach to it.

Do you mean attaching the set of pistons elsewhere on the robot? The current way I have it set up is with a 90o Baseplate Anchor, one vertical 20cm Black Extender, then the first piston and two others with an Iron Spike on the end. It's setup like this so the pistons hang under the robot and the spikes are pointing out the front.

Hehe, I tempted the Havok Overlord with that one HW I built, Centrifuge of Pain - it was basically the Project Trinity glitch. :P

RFS AI Pack V1.7 will be launching with "DLC" (Downloadable Content) - a popular classic multiplayer MW design of mine called "The Distracting Machine" will be included in the pack as a PG-13 version, I'll release a separate smaller download to turn it into its original NSFW design... and just for the heck of it I'm thinking about a "Special Dracophile NSFW Edition" patch as well. :P Same bot, just with a different paintjob.

I think I may have seen the robot you are making a reference to, but it's all a blur. :P The original "Distracting Machine" was just the standard "Dracophile Edition" and was used quite often whenever I played MP with some folks from RFSHQ but I figured I should PROBABLY tone it down for the AI Pack (and move the paintjob to target a much broader audience - haha "broad" get it) and let the players have the option to unlock "topless mode" or whatever if that's what they want. :P

I've built a lot of bots since my last teaser, they just don't have any skins or anything nice on them yet. I'd like to post some but I feel like they just look kinda ugly (most of them just have the default armor skin for the armor they have, or they are white). I was gonna do skinning LAST because designs were more important to me, and there's a lot of new designs, both wacky and formidable (and some that lay somewhere in the middle). After having AI'd a flamethrower bot for the DSL pack I've included one in here ("Toasty" from the RoboWarriors team), I've also gone through and made a better "stomper" bot that REALLY gets around with minimal damage to itself ("Creep" from Team MegaSparkRiotStorm), I fixed the crazy reach pneumatic weapons of Excelsior Stretch (also from MegaSparkRiotStorm I believe), and I've also made an obligatory "saw blades for wheels" rammer ala Ginsu ("Blade Runner" from MegaSparkRiotStorm and "Super Blade Runner" from the Cutlery Corner team).

My plan with this pack is to just build and build until I'm completely out of everything I've ever wanted to do in RA2, to be a super "catch-all" kind of pack to tie everything up. There's still a LOT of Robot Arena 2 players, which is surprising because I'm amazed this game has this much staying power - which means that there will always be new players. My original packs kind of set the standard for new players who were tired of the Stock AI and wanted some new challenges, but nothing too hard, and I really like that. People like battlebotsboy on YouTube and others who email me at random asking about my pack make me smile because I feel like I'm at least remembered. So, yeah. No official word on the number of new teams and bots, just "Lots" for now.

edit: Ahahaha, "Lots & Lots (& Lots & Lots & Lots & Lots) of Bots".

Excelsior Stretch, that's a reference to Vigilante 8 2nd offense, right?

Why yes, yes it is. :P It's named after Lord Clyde's electricity-toting limousine. Good eye. ;) There is another 6-wheeled robot named Moon Trekker lurking about as well. It has a gimmicky satellite dish for show and some arms for lashing out at other robots with.

V8 is one of my favorite games of all time. The day it came out for Xbox Live Arcade I was all over it and nailed every single achievement (except the multilayer one since I don't have Live Gold) that night.

I only have one little bot that might be topless.
