To be honest with the nostalgia factor and what playzooki said (he has a good point tbh) this was always going to happen. Just have some blanket statements on Facebook to shut down any complainers and then stick the flame shields up,and ignore them. I'm not a fan of the mod personally but you lads did put it a sh*t load of work so good on you.

There was something I was wanting to ask (not sure if it's been asked before or anything, there are MANY PAGES) but I was wondering; out of all of the robots included in the mod, which one was the biggest pain in the arse to make? Like, the one that took the most effort and time to get right?

Not too sure who can answer this if I'm honest. I'm not too certain who worked on the mod and who didn't.

Sorry about the font. Still new here (and to fourm sites in general) so I'm testing some of the things out to see how exactly they work. I still don't get how images work.

Oh, and the mod's absolutely fantastic. I don't believe I've mentioned how good it is yet. The work you guys put into this is insane, seriously. In a good way. :)

Ya know, that's actually a very good question. I don't think that's been asked before. I have a feeling they were all an arse to make, but one must've been a serious nightmare than the rest.

I can only speak for myself here: the only Replica I made was Black Hole and these drill... thingys on it's disc have been an nightmare.

You pose a good question. However, I suggest we leave that question and just wait for it to appear when it does. Don't forget, Click has the arena's, there are also the other bots that need inserting,....lots of stuff. Just give it time. Everything will be ready, soon. Just....patience.

Great work on the mod, boys. Tons of fun and the only mod I play right now when I fire up RA2 to beat up some flippers with american bots

However, I do think you guys were letting the RW fanboys get to you too much. For every bot request, I'm sure there was equal if not more support for the excellent work you guys were doing on the mod, especially here on the forum. Making mods for a 13 year old game is definitely a thankless job, so I do understand how requests for more content is annoying, even more so considering how much you guys have already accomplished. A lot of people are quick to criticize someone's work, but will stay silent in support.

This is how to respond to the facebook fanboys, not members of the dedicated forum. I just read the previous page after typing most of this up, and Naryar and Yugitom pretty much nailed my sentiment exactly. Playzooki might be retarded, but his opinion is worth reading and the only one that got a response.

The mod content is amazing itself, let alone for a first release, but I guess I just have a bad taste in my mouth regarding how the mod came to a closure. I just feel like there is a sense of blame placed on the community for the cancellation, when it was a vocal minority on facebook. You guys owed us nothing, but now there's a feeling of what could we have done different to let you know we support.

Yeah, hi, actually logging back in, something I kinda hadn't planned on doing because Scrap makes super valid points and I needed to respond.

The Playzooki/I stuff is honestly a personal thing and although it isn't intended as an attack on the community in any sense (again, it's a personal thing) it does reflect badly on the mod and the mod team and I'm sorry for that. Many reasons, all of which will come off as excuses, but overall just massive stress (see: last few months of uni degree), and this is personally why I've been dealing with things pretty badly, especially a few days ago, seemingly ignoring the more valid arguments and just picking fights. Need to learn to stop letting stress get the better of me. ALSO IF ROBOT WARS COULD RING US AND LET US KNOW IF WE HAVE TO FINISH A HEAVYWEIGHT ROBOT FOR A TOURNAMENT THAT FILMS IN 4 WEEKS THAT WOULD BE REALLY GREAT. cough.

Right, next up. The fanboys are not the reason we are quitting. Sure, it grows tiresome and it can be frustrating for people to simply not read a message you've written out SO many times (seriously no Razer will not be in the mod) but it's awesome to see how enthused people are about it, and you can tell they are.
For myself and HB at least, we've generally transitioned from RA2 through to real combat robots and generally losing a lot of interest in RA2 and the mod. Don't get me wrong, it's in no small part down to developing the mod that we've met so many great people in the community that we've bonded with really closely as friends, and for that we'll be forever thankful. This said, the work on the mod is now almost being because we said we would for those who have shown their support, rather than because we feel passionately about it. This isn't the way we want to run things, hence we decided to bring a close to everything before things got sour with we end up breaking promises - these delays have already been pushing it, I know.

Unfortunately I let myself makes things mildly sour and I'm genuinely apologetic for this to the entire community. I think this message has covered all the bases I intended to cover. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, especially those who have been vocal about it, it's you guys (honestly) that have encouraged us to actually get this expansion out instead of letting it fade into obscurity - as Scrap said, it's a very thankless task when you consider quite often a days work goes into each replica and we've been running 24/7 technical support on the mod page, so knowing people appreciate what we've done has been our fuel for carrying on.

Thanks for the response, Craaig.

I understand losing motivation during modding (whaddup ReStocked & my IRL pack), and the feeling of pressure to not let people down on promises, and that's just from experience working on tiny AI mods. I can't, however, relate to the hours your guys have already put in. From building the bots, skinning them, hunting down team members, 3D modeling, tech support. It's an insane amount of work with no reward, except having a final product that you guys should be tremendously proud of. And once you stop having fun, that's when it is time to stop.

I just want to emphasize not only how much you guys have done for the RA2 community, but robot combat as a whole. As much as we want to hate on the Facebook dumb-asses, those are new people playing RA2. If just 1/10 become active members, I'd take it. Who knows how long you guys have further extended the life of a game that wasn't even finished by its own developers. A game and show that was a pivotal part of mine, and countless other member's, childhood and life, there are no amount of thank yous that amount to my appreciation. I know you weren't coming from a place of resentment, Craaig, and thank you for clarifying.

If you just want to download the thing however, this is your best bet. Be warned it is the FULL GAME plus update because we changed so much.
