Update on the contest we're holding:

Just letting you guys know, you only have one week left so make sure you've submitted your entry by July 3rd

Remember:
  • Use whatever you want to design your robot and send us a picture (or pictures) of it for us to look at. Pictures from as many angles as possible would be helpful
  • Make sure you do not sign your robot or picture of robot with your name. Anonymity will help reduce our bias
  • We are looking for 1 featherweight (small) and 2 heavyweights (large) so make sure to label your entries appropriately
  • Submit all entries to RobotWarsRA2@outlook.com
  • Blatent copies or recolours of existing robots will be ignored

As the finishing touches are taking a little longer than we had hoped, here's a couple of sneaky previews to tide you over.

First off, here's the new model for Tough as Nails!


Following that up, here's the robot that made one of our competition winners modify their entry's name - Mantis!


And now, some arenas. First off, one of the coolest arenas I think I've seen in some time, this is the Roundhouse Arena, modelled by Knight!


Finally, a perhaps more conventional arena, if that's how you prefer them - the League of Champs Arena!

Better than GK since 2009.

Tough as Nails and Mantis both look awesome, as do the arenas, Roundhouse arena especially.

I may as well say now that I was the one who drew Orchid Mantis, and at the time I didn't know if there was or wasn't another robot called Mantis, so I had Orchid Mantis as my backup name. I'm still happy with Orchid Mantis as a name though :)
Also, now everyone knows I'm a far better artist in RA2 than in real life :P

Can't answer I343's question (although I believe nearing all are done) but RpJk, the current build (still not finished) is somewhere over 1.6-1.7GB compared to DSL2's meagre 700-ishMB.
Okay yeah, with a size like that this thing is going on my external hard drive when I download it... I'm guessing the high resolution textures, and amount of content have something to do with the files size?
