That one person owns the robots and doesn't want them in the pack for whatever lame reason. It's their decision in the end run.

Not when the Robot Wars LLC contract licenses us to use a robots image for any merchandise or promotional material it's not.

Probably that some idiot dosent want his bot in the promotional stuff, but the rights have gone over to Robot Wars LLC and he now is just being a git.

Nate, thing is the person who actually built the robot has already said yes and the version of the robot in the game is modelled on the period when he owned it. Because he is the builder, we would've taken his opinions into account if he didn't want it in the game even though the contract says we have the upper hand.

However, the person who owns it now is making a fuss because he tried to blackmail us to use his stuff as advertising for him which, we are not meant to do. This guy does not have the right to overpower the builder's word, the contract or us... Especially over a blackmail. What's worse is that he said he wanted it in the game before we made it.... Funny how his mind changes when he doesn't get what he wants?

If I made Ripper in game before it was Dystopia, and John Findlay gave me permission to do so and Gareth said he didn't want it in the game. Then Gareth wouldn't have that right, it's the same situation here.

Ps.
The reason why stuff may change in the mod because of this however is because we might be restricting ourselves to what goes in the game or not, so we don't have a real case on our hands where the actual builder says that he doesn't want the bot in the game. So basically a few classics we don't manage to get permission for will be removed. Possibly including Chaos 2 and Hypnodisc which would be a shame. But we are trying our best to track down the builders.

I don't really see where this case is keeping robots from being added. The original creator has given you the OK, so ignore the git who wants free advertising and throw it in anyway. He doesn't really have much of a case if he takes it anywhere (it's a fan mod for a free game and you've gotten the original builder's consent)

No idea who that guy is, but anyway. The guy in question has tried blackmailing in order to get a copy of the game. By removing permission to use his robots image is how he intends to do this.

However we have not included his robot in the game under its current paintjob. We included the version before he owned it because it was alot better and more highly ranked in the uk.

He wants us to show him the contract he signed to use his image, which is rubbish because we are not using it at all. Plus we have the agreement of the previous owner,plus the fact he signed the contract.

Now the current owner wants to see the contact, which will not provide for him because he is not a signatore, nor a team member/relation of the signatore. He has no right to see the contract, as such the contract is private and confidential.

Unfortunately when you buy a robot, you dont generally buy the marketing rights along with it. When I bought Dystopia for example, I was not allowed to keep either the name or paintjob of the robot by mutual agreement.

Unless he can prove he bought the rights to all images of the robot, past and present then he has no right to view the contract.

Sorry mate, if we said then it would be a dead give away. But to be honest it probably isn't that hard to work out from Gareth's description.

They're most likely not going to say since that could end really badly, but I'm going to take a guess.

Here are the key points:
A)It's a RW classic all star, as hinted by HB
B)It's a robot in the pack, but under a previous alias or paintjob
C)It was more successful previously than it is currently
D)It was sold on from the original builder

With that in mind, I've narrowed it down to a few:

I Like Tacos has been making some brilliant progress already guys so watch out for an update from him on the new arena, the first new arena that will actually make it into the game!

So, after so many months... Just been getting used to using the program again. It's taken me bloody hours to do this, so I need to get back to my regular pace. Photographs weren't provided for the skin this time so a lot of time went into creating this skin from scratch!

I'm not thrilled with it to be honest, what do you guys think of it?
