I don't think you understand what HB has said at all.
The reason they might not go in is due to CONTRACTS made with Robots Live and Robot Wars, the 2 being very separate companies in the UK. A petition changes nothing. As I said, HB knows the situation, so he will let us know IF and only if he can use them. Until then, pretend those bots were never even involved.

I get what you mean.  Still I find it hard to forget guess waiting's our only option.  And I'm guessing the contract is to do with the competitor's being trademarked to the respective companies.

I'm sorry but I absolutely HATE feeling useless or worse a liability.

If the issue is to do with contracts I'm guessing that the owners of the robots may not allow their robots to be used in the game if they are part of a rival company (Robots Live rather than Robot Wars). In this case I think the robot would not be allowed in the pack, irrelevant of whether it was part of televised Robot Wars in some way.

You do know that i was creating a game for robot wars before this and then i stopped and went onto this project and the same people loved to be part of my game would love to be part of this? I dont want to sound all high and mighty but some of the robotters that know my name and i asked and they accepted which is helping the cause, dont underestermate that people have heard the game and willing to be part of it

Dalek's right. The RW community very much knows of this game, perhaps not the community, perhaps that's for good reason.
The fact stands that this will be an official thing under the RW brand, even if it is free, so yes, the roboteers have all been contacted to check it's alright, and also to get more detailed photos of each bot from my understanding.

So that he can't get sued.  All fanfiction, even those that don't make money, is technically trademark infringement.  99% of the time, they look the other way, but he's just covering his bases.

Hi everyone

Not posted on here in ages but I've been following the work on this (which is excellent by the way), and since everyone seems to be debating these "mysterious contracts" I thought I'd clear some stuff up :P

Sadly there is a lot of politics that goes on behind the scenes. The contracts simply allow Robot Wars to use the image of whatever robots they are signed for. We are not in any way "trademarked" to Robot Wars or involved in the RW/RL "rivalry" and most roboteers will continue to support both. Simply put the contracts just give permission for the image of our robots to be used in things such as this.

Obviously there is a lot more to it than that but that is for the roboteers and EOs :)

Hope that helps and all credit to those involved in this mod because it looks fantastic!

Honestly don't worry about the copyright issue's because even if the robot's that are on more shaky terms as of actually being in the expanstion HB could make separate downloadable item and through our skills we could AI them ourselves providing HB does indeed release said bots separately.

Besides I have a plan B but HB most likely won't go with it.

As I said, FORGET those robots were included. If they get included, it will be a pleasant surprise.

I'm really sorry for those if who think I'm pushing it you see I have a stubborn side that has a hard realizing when too far is too far all I wanted was to help make this a thing seeing how this was something I've wanted for a decade.

And finally I can understand why some of you find me irritating I not trying to be irritating it's just who I am and what I do that's it.

We do not take requests we ask permission first before planning that is that so you have to deal with it,

It has come to my attention that 2 people have asked for the robots either from the archive or to release as a unofficial pack to try and get past the legal system, This is getting annoying! you do not message for the models so you can release them your self from the pack nor do you ask for them at all, This pack is for the official robot wars page as well as for people on the GTM but we do not give out robots if they are going to be in the pack nor do we give archive versions cos we dont use them anymore if this becomes a constant issue then we will find a way to deal with the people who keep pestering and asking let this be my final word, Stop asking as it wont happen you will not get archive versions nor will we give you the robots to try and beat the legal system or put them into your own pack and to be released

I would just like to say, this thread has gone absolutely mad and as DS7 and Vertigo have stated there is no beating the legal system.

Rules are rules and law is the law, you go against it and you end up picking up shower room soap.

Sonny, the mod is under the Robot Wars brand and will be having it's own couple of pages on the official website. Other than that you're bang on mate, cheers.

Everyone else, try not to panick or go overboard. Rules are rules and life is full of them, you can't illegally torrent everything you want in life. It's best to forget the complications and just look forward to what you will be getting.

And as for requests as stated before we don't take them anymore. We now only take requests from the roboteers if they want their robot in the mod.
