Title: LEGO Components Pack
Post by: Serge on February 03, 2010, 05:09:18 AM
Hey guys,

I noticed since you're all so into LDD (and I love my Mindstorms),I'd make a component pack for Antwieghts (or even lighter), based on LEGO components.

I need your help with deciding what parts to model. I already am working on making most of the wheels and electric motors, but I need help with extenders or weapons. They probably won't be single bricks, so if you were so kind as to make some models in LDD and send me screenshots / files (if I ever get myself to download LDD), I'd be really grateful. Of course, you will be credited.

We are working in the "Old Technic" scale, it means that this motor (http://www.active-robots.com/products/mindstorms4schools/lego-spares/legomotor-500.jpg) is going to be the most common one, so the most common wheels are going to be more-or-less 6-7 studs in diameter.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what to do. But this sounds pretty neat.

dont lie you were sold at the word lego :P

I think he is saying he want to make a component pack so you can make replica lego robots and fight them..

Aye. Component pack, maybe some arenas, etc. To turn RA2 into a silly-looking, LEGO robot battle game. Why? Because I can. ^^

What I meant, is if you have any ideas for weapons (made out of LEGOs, of course), don't hesitate to sketch them up / make them in LEGO Digital Designer. I need ideas! :D

Is there going to be actual stackable bricks, or an I asking a silly question? It would take a lot of attachment points :P

Yes, provided your compute will handle all the physics collisions. I am working on making this more-or-less stable.

oh....my.....god.

I love you serge, I LOVE YOU *not gay*

it would be cool, if you could make stackable bricks, so you could build everything around a bot.

make one of the old orange friction motors, need a pic?

This is a wonderful idea! I loved making Lego battlebots back when I was on my high school's robot team. Been about 7 or 8 years since then, lotsa memories. :3

That's it, you are now a lego wizard!

This pack is gonna be fun, considering I'm actually building a lego battlebot.
