Hey Click!
This is a suggestion for the armor plates.
I love them. They make building so much better but:

- the "solid" one is 3 times the weight of the transparent one. do you think you can make one that is only 2 times the weight of the transparent one? you could make the heavy ones we`ve got now a bit darker and use theire current skin for the medium plates.

- could you add another AP to each plate in the corner? it would make "exoskeleton building" much easier and more flexible since you can save weight with not needing some weired extenderwork to get one of those things on

- can you change them so we can attach components to the armorplates? would be cool for future designs.

It would be a lot of grind work, but a middle weight of armor plates with corner attach points could easily be done.  Actually, this would be one of those things that someone else could help with, as it would just involve reskinning and adding APs.

Just to get this straight, by "corner attach points", you mean on the same face as the other attach points but in the corner, right?

Attaching components to them sounds cool in theory, but you have to be careful not to add too many and make them too good.  You'd need some fixed number of component attach points regardless of size, or else the 120x120 plates would have at least 9 attach points, which would definitely break them.  Which means you need either 1 attach point in the center, or 4 in the corners.  What do you think?  Is one attach point for components enough?  I would hesitate to add four of them.

To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.

Oh, and I also 'unlocked' Hypno Disc ;P
Mates, I just took a look into the components folder of the DSL3 beta

There are S3 parts, Shishkabot parts, Tornado parts, Growler parts, Pussycat parts, RobotX parts, Taz parts, and YU812 parts...

I think we have more to unlock than just Hypnodisk...

If someone could be so kind as to turn these into bots and post them here, that'd be amazing

That's because for the majority most of them have their custom wheels in the mobility menu :P
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

oh okay there's only wheels in there

"a hurr durr thoz are 4 DSL2 compatibility XDDDD" uhh, no. Shishkabot is a new replica, not entirely sure about S3 though. Also, why would click say "Install this over a FRESH RA2" if it was DSL compatible?

edit: sorry about the sarcasm, had a rather stressful day and I thought you were trying to make me look stupid

I am beginning to suspect that the "grip bonus %" stacks additively with battery penalty, so when Tread reach half battery, it more or less stops moving completely.

Personally I think all wheels, even treads, should at least have 1 grip.  Comparing DSL3 to DSL2 and Stock

DSL 3 NPC + Hypno == (32*1.2)torque/(40+10.5)kg == 0.76 torque/kg
DSL 2 NPCF + Techno == (48*2.3)torque/(40+32)kg == 1.53 torque/kg
Stock HP-Ztek + Rubber == 48 torque/(30+13)kg ==1.12 torque/kg

I think DSL3 wheel grip has room for improvement.

I've been gone for a long time because of computer problems (actually wound up being a really easy fix, I was just too lazy to do it for a couple of years...), but now that I finally have it fixed I am really looking forward to trying this new stuff out.

I still have all of my robots, I was able to back it up before the virus made me wipe my PC way back when that happened.

Most of what I build is still VSes, I also like to play around with hovercraft engines and generally creating things that have big intimidating weapons even though they can be so unstable they aren't really great for real tournaments =p.

Sure, I'll need to figure out DSL3 first though and see how all the new balancing works out.

Most of it will probably be remakes of what I have already done though.
