Custom Burst Hinge

Okay, not sure if this should be in Mods and Development but anyways,
The IronForge skirt hinge, I've made it into a stand-alone burst motor, with lots of power! Useful for building and fitting flippers in tight spaces. Do you like it?

It's nothing new but handy nonetheless. I was actually contemplating this the other day as Wham's  burst hinge uses the 3-poimts-long version. Will definitely come in handy :)

Is it balanced ? It would be nice to use in IRL tournaments if it was heavy enough and consumed enough power to not overshadow other burst motors.

Else it'll be this OP judge burst use all over again.

I think so. I'm using it on my Cassius replica, as in the title.

Wow, that mass. If this was used in DSL I'd probably up the weight to 45-50kg? Don't know a lot about balancing myself but surely for the size it should weigh more than a full-size burst of similar power.

I only changed the burst value. Does this mean it's not stable?

No, the weight of the burst is just too low when compared to its power from a component balance standpoint. It's like if you had a spike that did thousands of pierce and concussion damage, weighed next to nothing and couldn't be broken. That's unbalanced from a gameplay perspective.
I think a weight of 50kg would make it less overpowered.

Anyone feeling like modding it so it would be less OP ? I would do it but I'm drunk. So I'll do it later if you guys don't feel like it.

I think if it had about the Judge Burst's power but say 10-20kg heavier, that would be fairly balanced.

As Craaig said, it's nothing too original since Wham has made this before, but I feel it can still be useful for front hinged flippers. This also feels like you are off to a good start in txt file editing. Also, I love the file name you gave it.

Craig, for someone part of the mod team, you're a numpty. All the modern flippers in the RA2 are powered by the wide and and slim shirt hinges with new txt files. Non of Whams reps were.

Wham did release a skirt hinge burst a long time ago, perhaps that's what he meant.

Oh I didn't know that, wham only gave me his pack and meshes to work with.

But yeah there's a range of slim and wide burst hinges included in the mod at different powers, all with different sounds recorded from Dystopia, Manta, Flow and Manta Jr. I should really record a video on fraps some time.

Yeah Wham used a custom skirt hinge burst in his Roaming Robots pack on his Envy and Pug replicas, among others.

^ Long long long ago, waaaay previous to the 2013 pack, in fact probably around when I joined :P  I know the flippers use them in the new pack too, don't worry :P
