Cheating in Events
« on: April 29, 2009, 07:32:41 AM »
this 3 pictures show how to cheat when you play events  with you favorite team. This is just information for i know all of you are really  fair play and  proudly accept the fate of the game.

when an event occurs, the current step and information is written in the file RA2/Teams/teams.txt.

Modifiying this file may crash the game, just make an archive (zip, copy, etc)  before all.

in the following instance, i assume you've got only 1 bot in an event in your current team.

EDITED : The Last number is you number of kill, for instance, i had 75 kills, so no need to put it back to 0

next to do :
-discover where the current 'step' in the event is written, thus it should be easy to go back to the lab, again and again.
-come back from hollydays (been in spain this time) to answer you question and look at your reaction... if any.

Naughty, naughty info....:-D
Input is appreciated. :)
-Arrogance is a quantity devoid of quality...
-As a client once told me "This is my story, and it's sticking to me!"
-Relationships these days are like the 'Arrival' section of the airport: a lot of baggage is being revealed in one place, and not a lot of it is being correlated to its real owners...

Tournaments with super heathy opponents? Sweet!
Put this onto your signature if you were part of this crappy fad in '03.

I figured out the unknown numbers at the bottom.
The 15 numbers are the opponent teams points in the current season.
The one below them is the points you have in the current event, if you are not in an event it shows the points you had in the last events end.
The one below this number is your teams points in the current season.

Yes, as soon as youre done with a match, dont repair. Instead go straight into the teams.txt and you should see these 3 numbers below the kills:
34 30 0
First one, I dont have clues.
The middle one is the minutes remaining for your repairs, but it appears that 40 is max. I canged it to 100 but in the game it was 40.
The third is seconds remaining.

Aslo the component #0 on the component health list is your chassis HP.

A word of WARNING!
Do not go nuts on the component HPs, increasing them over the shown max(the 3rd column) increases weapon effectivity, motor speed and torgue(sounds go totally U.F.O. O_o), wheel grip and appearently weight too.
In order to help you indentify the motors and wheels, all motors(including bursts and pistons) and wheels have 400 max HP.

One thing I also just noticed(that has nothing to do with this stuff) is that, if you have a controller(PS2, XBOX or W/E) You can program your robots controls to the controller(makes sense, eh?). This may allow better controllability some people.

I gave this game to my friend and I actually win a little more matches on his computer because he has a ps2-like controller for it.

thats cool, I get the part in the blue rectangles, but the other stuff looks a bit confusing

I have a 2 joysticks, one ps2 style and one for flight sim games, one time me and a friend made a jeep with some homemade components in dsl(co2 with no collision, super batteries, miniservos...)  I would control the jeep and have 1 little gun to shoot from with the ps2 controller, while my friend used the flight simulator joystick which controlled the gunner part of the bot(20 cannons)     it was pretty fun

Yes. Please do. You see, at GTMs, we don't like spam. we ban people who spam.

Edit: is there a way around the "bending one side too much" rule?
