Title: CataGORE AI: releases!
Post by: System32 on May 30, 2009, 12:32:22 PM
Yes, in here I will post pics of the teams and post links to stuff for the CataGORE AI Pack.

I don't have any of the bots really ready, but here is the music for the game:

http://www.filefactory.com/file/ag3ehga/n/Stock_revized_zip

In a lighter note, the music ain't the only thing getting modded...

Hah, you sure love your Ratchet and Clank. Good music.

When you showed us the Zygan system music, I thought it was better for the Team HQ.

Anyway, here's an update of the pack:

Teams and robots: Instead of making a team for evey bot type, I've decided to make one of every variation of but type, (so one 36HS with irons, one with maces, one MW chained VS, one dual MW VS, one 2 DDT flipper, one 4 DDT flipper, one realistic Popup, one single Hammer, one dual Hammer, one castor Rammer... you know, stuff like that.)
Certain Bots from the stock teams will have a team somwhere. (Cat fish may have a team with a new version, a poker called Dogfish and a crawler/ realistic flipper called Lionfish...)

Each team will be in three.

And finally, this will be the first pack to use "Chea(P)t bots". To fit with the theme of every bot type, there will be some bots with flamethrowers, cannons, and hovercrafts. (Don't worry, you can use Cheat weapons as well, and they are beatable.)

Components: All components will be modded so there isn't favoritism. The tourque on redbirds will be amped up, Zteks will have more hit points, the large wheels will get a grip and HP boost and the heavy waepons will have more HP and/or damage.

Cheat parts will be avalible. But not perfect. Cannons take 2 times as much gas as 2pistons!

Also: I've seemed to have lost the TXT files for the components, can I get a link to the ones for stock components?

I can send you the entire text documents if you like ? or the components.cfz ?

this looks real nice S32 I think im going to scrap my stock upgrade/components/ai (whatever you want to call it) pack for now

Edit: S32 I sent the TXT files of all components via pm

You should release this first, and then ask builders to send you their bots with this mod... i mean, what's the point of a 36-iron if you have something with modded sledgehammers that can beat it ?

And be careful on cheat parts. I mean they are sometimes fun to play with, especially hovercrafts, but you'll risk ending with some noob claiming how he overlapped 6 cannons on his bot and he can beat all other bots.

Trust me, if he can get six cannons on his bot without using RAD and miniwheel drive, he deserves to boast.

here is a preview of some of the weapons and stuff.
Clicky. (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Comp pack 1.zip)

If there is any problems, tell me about it, and if you can, send some info on how to solve it.

This seems to be a promising pack. On the note for Ratchet and Clank music, I have found a page that contains all 5 R&C games music and some other stuff too, if you are intested: Here (http://host.kg13.com/music/)

About the air tanks... it's still unbalanced because people will use 2 small air tanks rather than 1 large air tank, and 2 SAT's take less space than 1 LAT.

Can't wait to see this mod composition coming out!

You should augment the airtotal of the large one... physically, it could contain at least 3 times more air than the small one at the same pressure.

No, I'll be removing the ballasts and replacing them with Anti ballasts, that's all.

Here's the second set:
Here! (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Comp pack 2.zip)

Also, they seem to be next to the original stock parts. How can I fix this?

S32 the batteries look fine.

Anyways you should make the weapons have the same efficiency (see Click's formula), but a little bonus for the weapons with normals, else they will be inferior to others (as in DSL 2.1).

Also i really think the 20cm pole spikes should be much lighter. Hell, at the scale it shouldn't even be 1 kg...

if your talking about where they appear in the bot lab when I was making my Stock Mod (scrapped now since there is a lot going around) I found the names of the components determined positions of the components (that's for power and weapons haven't tried any others)

also are you going to make the metal extenders stronger then the plastic ones ?

If I remember correctly, there is an optional line that you can place in the component .txt file.
Sort: (number here)
Something like that. What it does is make the components appear in htat order, you can have many with same Sorting nuber, they will only appear right after eachother.

If click likes this, I might go on and do other tournaments like RAW and Brawl of the builders.

Armor definitions are in the RA2.cfz in the main directory.

Ofcourse you need Lu-Tze's CFZ decomplier/complier.

Oh.

Riiight.

I'll get in that... soonish...

In a lighter note, here's what I've done to the blades and Pole spikes:

I noticed they weren't being used much, and I was about to put them as 7 KG when I had a brainstorm from Nary's earlier post: They are too heavy.

I lightened them up so the pole spikes are adding 1 KG each length and the Blades are adding 2.
AW's and BW's are gonna be easier to make now, Eh?

Also all the wheels. Change the hitpoints, weight and maybe the grip a little (eg. the rubbers and N12's being more grippy)

help.

Redline gave me a very important link so I didn't need to use the PC's calculator, I've been making all the components and stuff, Nar and SSG beta tested and pointed out flaws and you gave me the component files.

The last spots are for anyone who wan't to update the spashes after the components are made, any AIer who wants to help or any decent bot submitter.

The fracture values are really high. IMO the only things that would really have high fracture values would be ramplates and maybe square extenders, as well as really heavy weapons like battle axes and sledges.

Also if you don't balance the weapons everyone is gonna pounce on the best ones just like in stock.

And when i'm thinking of it... you better take the stacking factor into value (for the batteries mainly). Or you're going to request a realistic rule ??

Title: CataGORE AI: releases!
Post by: Naryar on June 04, 2009, 11:45:28 AM
Between 20 and 500... 20 being the pole spike (I think it should be more damaging but weaker BTW... it's pretty sharp) and 500 being the ramplate.

Most weapons near 100-200, battleaxe 300, plow something like 350, sledge 400...

And maybe an increasing fracture value for increasing extender lengths.

As well as the 3 types of connectors having more HP/fracture than even the square extenders because bigger and made of plain steel (I think).

One of them are the default components. No idea why they're included.. maybe S32 thought they would be needed.

But because of the Components.cfz in the main directory we all have, adding text files of the default weapons just makes double listings in the bot lab.

Bump:

I'll be adding a new system to the bots.

As commonly known, there aren't many bots at 500 600 and 700 KG, due to the "Use the weight limit" complaint.

Not any more.

I'll be adding bots that are 500 and 600 KG to the AI pack in the extras set. (Bot places 3 4 5 in text, or 4 5 6 in game) The will be shown by a K5 and a K6 respectively, like SHW's and BW's.

Also, The bots will be realistic, but some bots may not be realistic.

You are rebalancing stock ? Excellent !

Personally i have superior efficiency values for the normal-ed weapons and the fail weapons (70000 for DS normals, 80000 for SS normals) but i don't know if it is enough.
