Disclaimer
The following is listed as an UNOFFICIAL 1.4 patch for Robot Arena 2 Stock, the patch contains the controversial 140cm square extender. It is included for your convenience and enjoyment and in no way am I calling it a standard part, please refer to all Tournament rule-sets regarding its legalities and showcase at your own risk (:P)
the following is a self installing .exe which will modify your stock robot arena game to include:
AI parts (used by AI robots but were never made visible in the original release)
Hidden Parts (parts within the game but were never made visible in the original release)
Preview images for those missing them (custom made by myself)
the patch will NOT affect compatibility with any other game, all 1.3 and u1.4 games and robots will compatible with each other.

Please enjoy my efforts and not shoot it down like the last time, its not an official patch (you will notice its written as "u1.4")

Nice work Joe. I vote for officialism.
-
Same.
-
Ditto (even though i don't play stock much, the 140cm extender has come in very handy on the one design i used it on)
-
I'm siding with GK and Sage. The weight is sorta made up for in the way of having only 100HP on a component that size. Like the SnapperII, it's a little bit dependent on how we use it. Using it for wedges would probably be better than using it on a weapon system.
-
It's very big aswell (obviously) so that poses multiple problems.
I find it strange that this is apparently illegal in stock, but the snapper II isn't
-
I think it shold be legal really, like all other hidden parts
-
I think it's because the SnapperII has become such an integral part of efficient building in Stock nowadays.
-
The self-extract didn't quite work. It all extracted to the main ra2 folder, not components. Now I realize that I probably shoulda directed the extraction to the components folder, but for an official patch (which it should be) you might want to be able to select the main directory and have it extract to the components folder.

I apologize, its an old .exe (if the last thread didnt get flooded with debating someone could have told me sooner)
I was going to make a new one anyway so I will correct the issue when I have the time to look at it
while you wait.. if it causes any problems

download my old AI patch.. it will correct any errors but will rollback your game to 1.3 so there will be no 140cm extender until I make a new .exe
-
victory goes to Mr Sage again :gawe:
I will fix the .exe updater but I just saw Sage is offering up RTR Stock 1.4 in his sig now
could be controversial but is very helpful
-
You're welcome Joe.
Although, i don't like the 140cm red extender. The square one is okay because it's length makes it hard to use, but the red one is like using a smartzone to attach things in space. When you fix the .exe, maybe remove that.
Unless you guys like the invisible extender?
-
:O I forgot it was in there?
I dont like it either its way more controversial then the square extender.. its like Narmour or Typhoon Flags
yeah I will take it out.
-
Set me up with a final .exe extractor so I can get an official RA2 1.4 up.
-
I can give you a fixed one sooner as you dont need an .exe as you know how to install things :P
-
Well I just need a fixed components.cfz, cause I never really compiled one.
And I'll remove the 140cm.gmf
-
no dont do that
it will ruin compatibility (even though nobody should use it) but I dont agree with editing stock itself..
I will just take it out the styles in the text and recompile the CFZ
-
oh okay. sounds good.

What? The "140 cm" red extender is all but useless due to its weight. Sure you can attach stuff out in space, but it's 35 kgs. I'd like to see someone make an effective bot with that.
I'm all for legitimizing the 140 cm square extender though. It's been used unofficially long enough now and no major abuses have popped up.
-
I'll throw my weight in in support of this as well.
-
I think it should be legal aswell, IMO it's a lot less usefull than the snapper II, and if that's legal, why not this?
