ACAMS Components Pack
« on: June 09, 2011, 06:57:45 PM »
Thanks to all those that help!
I just found out Admin can see this, but can't post, so I will add all Admin to this section. (and Global Moderators)

This is made so I can use an installer to install this mod, and all new add-ons will use an installer.

It installs to Components/ACAMS Components (except for texts) and I will make the installer later.

This is a .rar and you should be able to install it no problem.

Here is beta 001 and after updates are set, I will put together an 002, then hopefully release it.

I looked at it.  Are you even trying to balance them, at all?

So let's list a bunch of extremely overpowered stuff just from eyeballing.

Just so you know, all spin motor takes the same amount of battery regardless of how big an elecMaxinoutrate you put in.  So those motors are extremely overpowered.

Texas Horn, in DSL terms, has 902.7 DP and 90270 efficiency.  I guess that will gore any opponent.

Likewise, the machine gun also has 902.7 DP, but 135405 efficiency.  It's better as a swing weapon then any shot it's ammo can fire.

Of course, nothing is  to the prop components....  1748.45 DP and 1643543 efficiency.  Imagine putting those prop blade on a popup or shell.

Anyway if you want your weapons to match the DSL ones, this is the equation to use.

600 * KG = HP * [concussion + (1.839 * piercing)]

It also has a bunch of stuff with no HP, and generally no purpose other then deco.

Some components has extremely large size but extremely small collision.  The problem is when they can be mounted directly to the chassis and somehow the collision sticks out (Valkyrie battery for example).

I made everything super powerful well, most!
The airplane gets creamed if the prop is not way ahead
OH, I need to upload bots.......here is the airplane.....I will have to rebuild others, like the Jeep.

Well, you can have two sets of components, an hidden version for the custom bot, and a balanced version for normal use.

Otherwise it's won't be much of a component set.

You and staff, I just added S_M since he will be good to find other problems......anybody else you think I should add.

It also has a bunch of stuff with no HP, and generally no purpose other then deco. (I think the driver is one of those, and can be given stats)

Some components has extremely large size but extremely small collision.  The problem is when they can be mounted directly to the chassis and somehow the collision sticks out (Valkyrie battery for example). (The Valkyrie battery needs to show, as does the blower)

in that case remove the collision entirely.  Better that than invincible armors.

I doubt this will EVER get used for tournaments, and it can't be any worse than Castor armor.

OK, so other problems eh? I'll get right to it.
I do agree though. They need to be balance in some shape or form at least with other components in the same pack.
EDIT: Was gonna add to Space Arena but then I realised it needs certain stock components for the Airplane. So yeah, a note would be nice.
OK, Machine guns seem to not fire anything (Nothing visible and no collision with objects such as crates)
As for the medium cannons, (maybe all cannons). THe ball just rolls out the end in testing, I can't seem to get it to fire properly. (FIXED: Needs LOADS of air tanks).

Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

EXACTLY what I meant by balancing....some are super powerful, and some are not......they all need to be very powerful, and not super powerful, I would think, but that is why I am asking for opinions.

i just want to build my corvette!

OK, get after it      :p

This is what bummed me out so bad I quit working on the pack.......I got pisssssed.

If you young smart guys can help with this, I will install max today and finish my parts I started when this happened.

I was making a drop straight axle, and front drive axle for the Jeep by changing/adding code to the narrow carsteering.gmf

look at this https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Arena2/carsteering1.gmf

I could not get the damn center section to point the right direction and got pissssed.

While looking at the current stats for everything, I noticed that 'styles/lt_tankmotor.txt' and 'styles/Prop_Blade_Small.txt' are not used. The 'styles/flamethrower small.txt' is also causing an error because the GMF is non-existent.

I think you and I were talking about that like two years ago when you first took the pack off the DL section.

here is the fix  ..  https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Arena2/ACAMS_Components/betafix001.rar

Some more....sounds, and the icon, and Robot designs folder.  https://gametechmods.com/Robot_Arena2/ACAMS_Components/Sounds_icon.rar

I removed "styles/Prop_Blade_Small.txt" from my beta, as I don't think there will be a smaller blade, but there will be a helicopter body and maybe a small helicopter blade for the tail.

The main file on the first post has been updated too.....this is just the missing/misleading files.

I took a look at the carsteering GMF earlier today and think we can get it to work with minimal effort. After decompiling with Serge's most recent decompiler, you need to fix the APs so that the USER DATA stuff is separated (thats why the compiled GMF gives you errors if you try to attach it right now). To get the center piece rotated, you could use the excel file that I posted here instead of messing with the TM_ROWS (which would be difficult because you're trying to rotate the base and nothing else). The excel file could also be used to make your Jeep bigger.

I got the jeep bigger, but need Darkrat, or Clickbeetle to make all the panels show......unless one of you guys know what they do!

Anyway, here it is if you want to see it.

BE SURE to install the new driveshaft, or the bot file will crash your game.

I just turned off BACKFACE_CULL in the gmf file in order to make all the faces display as double-sided.
Just set BACKFACE_CULL to 0 on whatever isn't showing up correctly.

OK, That was simple....THANKS!!!

It looks a million times better, but I still can't get the light right, it is way too dark, unless I find a good corner.
It is so bad my decal does not show.
