No, this is not another "wher do i get teh Maxxs?" thread. Rather, it's an offer to those who have Max 4/5 and would like to make a part pack.
To said Max owners:
If you would like to make a part or part(s), tell me and I can help with the models. Skins are not my strong point, but I will do my best.
EDIT: Here's a motor I whipped up. No texture yet.

thank you :)

Do you have Max? Have you exported a model from Max into RA2 successfully?
I can try my hand at the wings and the tire's easy, but I can't make any attachment points because I can't export from Max because I don't have Max.

o i do not have max i just wanted some one to make them for me i could code the ra2 files for it but i cant make the models and attachment points like i can but it would due with going to the gmf and adding and i am not realy good with that...
-
i was wonder also what modler are you using if you dont have max?
because i want it if you can do gmf on it...
-
3DS Max is the only modeling program that will export to .gmf (and only with a special addon). Thats why he is asking for help in turning his models (from a different program) into actual components.
-
or you can download a file converter... i had a sound converter i had a mp3 and i was trying to add it into a game and i look on the internet for a sound converter and i converted the sound to wav...
maybe this converter could help i dont know what 3dmodels it converts but maybe gmf
http://www.sharewareconnection.com/3d-object-converter.htm
and i know a model that already has .gmf file plugin but its $395 and its new
also i dont know where you could get 3dsmax 4.5 - 5.1 so...
also the model converter only works on
Win95,Win98,WinME,WinNT 3.x,WinNT 4.x,Windows2000,WinXP,Windows2003

You can't get a .gmf from a model without Max. There just isn't any other utility.
-
ya there is i found a program that is called
Max Emulator
and it is for ra2 and it just for .gmf but lags alotttt
like 2 hour lag to start and 1 hour lag for putting textures on
and laggs by 15 fps

In the absence of a link and the first page of Google turns up nothing, I'll have to say I don't believe you. Show me this emulator and I may change my mind.
-
If you made that motor you need to remember that the axle has to be seperate from the motor, but it can be put in the game with a little modding to the file in Max.
-
The axle is indeed separate. I have quite a few more, if anyone remembers the render I put up on the official forums in the OpenRA topic...
How many people with Max are left anyway? I know Darkrat had it, Click- and Firebeetle do text editing...
-
I put it in max and looked at it, anyway it is not needed because the angle motor does what it does.
-
True, but variety is the spice of life... I was making these for the OpenRA project anyway (if they were going to continue to use the part-based method of bot building), not necessarily for RA2.
If anyone wants to have them, here (http://www.mediafire.com/?ztj2v92ndwm)'s all of the motors I made. No textures.
