I don't get tortoise. Are the large pointy tips just for cool looks or it is actually a complex hammer ?
It's actually the self righting mechanism. The clamping claw can self right it but not as quick as I hoped.

Eh, pointy tips on a srimech ? Why ?

You can easily use something easier, such as a simple burst + extender setup, and it will work.

Eeh, I guess. To be honest I think my showcase has fallen flat... I have run out of original ideas.
(Funnily enough I removed the spikes)

Nah. You are too new to fall flat yet.

Here's a popup.

I know you wanted inside pics of my stock bots. But I'm giving you the insides for this one, so you can poke holes in the design ofc~ ^^

Not 100% sure what weight class it is so I can't comment 100% on the bot itself. All I can say is if this was intended as a Standard MW (just guessing as an Ironforge Standard MW tournament is in discussion) this wouldn't be allowed due to the razors cutting right through the motors/wheels.

I'm not planning on entering any tournaments with this bot.
To be honest when I get the time to I might delete this thread. All my bots have just sucked, I'm not having as much fun as I was when I created Raven. Maybe I'm just some 'one bot wonder'.

Thanks for your comment anyway.

If you're not having fun building bots, just don't build for a little bit and then come back to it when you have more ideas. Don't delete your thread because you don't get new bots perfect or up to your standards on the first try, just take comments into consideration and increase your building skill over time.

Well, having low self-confidence kind of makes it worse dude.
I just... Suck. That's how I think.
I've entered a few tournaments with legal bots. (Bots In Space, BW Bash etc)
But to be honest I just can't compete. Sorry if this has put you on a downer... I'm sorry.

If you tell yourself that you suck, your bot building will suffer. Just try to stay positive when making bots or whatever else you may be doing and think about the cool things you can make with the right mind set, such as Raven.

Apologies. I'm taking yugi's advice and taking a break. No need to threaten me. (Unless you were joking).

I was half joking half serious. you will never like all the things you create. but everything you do lets you make some progress in learning. take your time and do what you like to with the game

Yeah, don't go deleting your showcase just because you don't have any good ideas. I haven't showcased a bot in months.

Edit: Correction, I haven't showcased a bot since February 2nd of 2014.

No one said they don't like your robots so you must be doing something right

Maybe not everyone will be sure on them but this thread is progress in your GTM career. People will hate. People will say whether they don't like your robots. Don't let it get to you though. No one has yet.

C'mon man, just because you don't have any cool ideas, doesn't mean you should just give up immediately on about 3 pages. Don't let yourself down either just because you think you're just bad. I mean, I had some examples of shortcomings in my showcases and I didn't give up, I just waited a bit and built a different bot and improving from the criticism I received. Soon, you'll get better than you already do. [/redundancy]

I also tend to suffer from low self-confidence, m8. It's emotionally corrosive and you should try ignore it and just do stuff without thinking too much about it. Whether you suck or not, just do it. If you THINK you suck then you will probably suck. There are times when thinking hurts more than helps.
Interestingly enough you don't suck. You build well. Heck, you already build better than other members that have already been here for years, imo.

If you insist everyday on building something you will run out of ideas. The more you struggle for inspiration the less inspiration you'll get. Do something else, take brakes from game, stay busy and you'll start getting ideas popping from nowhere.

Edit: One last note. If you run on low self-confidence you probably have similar thinking as me. I noticed your latest showcased bots had fewer comments and that could've bummed you out a bit and made you think you lost your mojo (i'm just speculating here). But you shouldn't worry about that. People will see your showcase, they may compliment you or not. When someone spots something that could be done better he will point it out. When there's nothing really to point out people will most likely not say anything. i'm basically repeating what was already said above, soo yeah.
Keep up, m8. You don't need to showcase something everyday to please. Look at me I showcase something every 2 or 3 months XD

Thank you very much, I have been taking breaks. I've just been playing Stock RA2 passively with a friend.
I haven't run out of ideas because I have quite an imagination but I found that the originality of my builds started to lack and then I caved in with low confidence. I apologize to everyone (and to you Dominating), I feel as though I've wasted your time with my whining.

are you done saying flat-out nonsense ? you suck as much as i'm a three-headed ninja squid! you make some pretty badass stuff, and if you suck, then i must be the worst builder to have ever joined this forum, you are far, very far from sucking, so stop thinking stuff about yourself that is completely false....

Just built this for fun. So, as hard as it is, no criticism please! ^^ Cheers.

The idea came from when my PS3 crashed when updating Gran Turismo 6, and unfortunately it landed on the infamous 99%

It's a LW, because LW's are small, quick & annoying xD (to fight against AND control...)
