Omni AI does not work.
« on: June 25, 2011, 01:37:46 PM »
I've tried Omni with so many bots, and it doesn't work at all. Why is this? BTW, I've been using it on bots with more than 2 weapons.

You're probably writing your bindings or controls wrong.

list.append(("Hydrotech","Omni",{'nose':math.pi,'radius':0.1,'range':99,'topspeed':100,'throttle':130,'turn':60,'turnspeed':3,'weapons':(7,8)}))

You have to give us more info than that, what exactly "doesn't work"?

It can drive around, but the weapons do not work at all. It just shoves the other bot around the arena.
BTW, it's your Hydrotech replica, but I replaced the weak lifting arm, with a Judge Burst.

Smartzones? Correct Smartzone names? Correct weapon control name?

Ah ok.  You don't want to be using Omni, you want OmniMultiZone as the robot's binding.  Name the first smartzone weapon1, and the corresponding button Fire1. The second smartzone should be called weapon2 and the appropriate button Fire2.  So on and so forth for as many weapons as you need - I think you can have up to 4.

Is there anywhere I can get the OmniMultiZone?

This pack has it, plus a lot of other useful bindings and a PDF that explains them all.
