when I try to use Vladiator (spike version) my game crashes

You probably don't have the game installed right. Are there lots of white boxes in the bot lab selection screen?

there might be others that you haven't tried that don't work or the Vladiator Spike component is the problem

nah,the other AIs work,Ive tried them,its just vladiator with the spike

I believe I had the same problem a while back and the bot lab was pretty messed up with whites spaces and such, just use that guide in my signature and should all work good
