Video Card Wars
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:37:44 PM »
Which is the best video card for RA2? my video card has just failed (in my other computer that has RA2 installed, not the main one i run CCB1 off), and i was wondering which one would be best? suggest any video card here, even NVIDEA ones that work (which are few and far between :P).
I... I think I've quit. Lurking and posting where I feel it's needed from time to time. I was never particularly good, but I tried. Never really succeeding, but trying all the same.

It would probably be OK for RA2!!!

This is basically the card I have.  The only difference between this one and mine is that this is an XFX card, and mine is PNY.

It's a great card for the price.  I can run RA2 on full settings 1600x1200 without a single problem.  Plus it also can ran any given source game on full settings without any lag and can run GTA IV on 1600x1200 with near-high settings.

It's a great card if you don't have the money to pay for a really high-end one.

With ATI you can use ALL the arenas, even the Mars arena.....AND you don't need to patch to 1.3 to make it work!!!!!

i always trust ATI. Nvidia is a bit expensive IMO. also, ATI cards have better support for Havok (sp) engines. best go for one like me or Serge have, if you're Motherboard supports it.

I envy you for your graphics card whose model number is 20 higher than mine! :D

And I thought mine was the best... :(

you thought wrong! the 50 in the HD series is always the normal thing, standard price. the 30 is way weaker and decently cheaper.  the 70 is superb performance, great for gaming and such. but the price is also higher.
this is, if i remember correctly.

Guys he was asking for a card to run RA2.  I don't think you need a $400 card to run RA2 on its highest settings.

Which is the best video card for RA2?

BETTER, is always BEST!

And since ATI does not need 1.3 patch and does ALL arenas....even Mars arena, then that MUST be best!

Actually the HD6xxx series have been announced. No sense in buying HD5xxx anymore.

qft in that case. save up a load of money anyone who wants a new and proper card. HD6xxx will probably be way better.

i will just stick with my HD5870.
