Team Issue

As you guys know, I'm workin on that switch AI thing, well, I'm trying to put in a rookies two team, but for some reason, every time in that team when I'm in the bot lab, when I press the back button, it crashes, and then when I try to go back to the team, it crashes. I can't just start over, so could I send it to someone for them to fix it?

so let me get this straight

you cannot get to the robot select screen for that team ?

have you messed about with the components or CFZ's at all ?

Bet it's a messed up teams folder ?

AFAIK there is no reason it should crash on the team select screen or even bot select screen if it's a component-related failure.

@Sparkey: Learn how the components folder works by lurking and trying stuff, then check Teams.txt in the team folder. Might be that.

actually you can mess it up if you perform enough damage

extensive damage would be needed and a particular sequence on breaking things also :P

anyway back on topic.. I say manually take your bot files out of the folder and delete the team

Listen:
if I make a bot in Team1, and click the "back to HQ" button, it crashes. Upon clicking on the team to go back in, it crashes. So having bots in it and the back button crash it. I think I could put in a blank new Teams.txt, but I'd have to rename the teams and all that.

so let me get this straight

please use more simple ways of explaining. it will help.. also answering important questions that people ask to help with the troubleshooting process.

1) go into the teams folder... and manually copy out all the Bot Files from the folders and paste them into folder on your desktop called designs.

2) copy the whole teams folder onto your desktop also as a backup.

3) go into a working RA2 game you have and copy the whole teams folder.

4) delete any teams that my now appear in you AI pack game form the copy.

5) copy all those bot files in the designs folder on your desktop and place them into the robot designs folder of the game.

6) run the game and make your teams again by re-importing robots.\
