Title: Stop widescreen custom resolution from being stretched?
Post by: Pyromaniac605 on January 27, 2012, 08:46:35 PM
I'm getting tired of playing the game in a small window rather than using the entirety of my monitor, so in RA2.cfg I changed the resolution settings to my monitor's native resolution (1600x900). But when I play like this the image is all stretched out and it's a littly dizzying to look at, is there any way to stop it from stretching the image?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Open RA2.cfg, look for these four lines.
Code: [Select]
FSDisplayWidth=1024
FSDisplayHeight=768
FS3DDisplayWidth=1024
FS3DDisplayHeight=768
Change the numbers to match your monitor's screen resolution (For example, I changed "1024" to "1600" and "768" to "900") save and exit, then start RA2.

Not sure what I did wrong the first time to make it stretched out, but it seems to be working.

The problem with changing the resolution like that is that none of the GIB work looks quite right. I've been meaning to fix them but the sheer number of fixes necessary to get things looking right suggests that it may take quite a bit of time. If someone else wants to fix them, I wouldn't mind showing them how. The issue is time, not difficulty.

Sure, I'd be willing to give it a shot, how do you do it?
