Smartzones-where?

I am doing attempted replicas, but I can't seem to get a smartzone. Help plz.

On the name of the robot, type : cheatbot2


your screen should flash, and hidden components should be revealed.

it's better to download and install madiaba's smartzone component pack. someone with more time than me can dig up the link for you, or you can try searching for it in the main search bar of the forum.

But now when I try to get the computer to fight with the robot I replicated when I press start match it says 'Abnormal program terminentation'. Then it closes RA2. Y?

did you AI them correctly?

It is most likely because the Bindings don't match the name of the bot.

I checked, the bindings name and bot name are the same.

did you add a new teamfolder? if so did you change the teams.txt file?

Well you C it was working, but then I had to use my safe copy of RA2 DSL. I copied the robot design and AI folders and they replaced the old AI and robot design folders of the safe copy. Then I used cheatbot2 to get the smartzones and then the problem started.

Be more specific.  Tell us everything you changed between the last time it worked proprly and the first time it crashed.

If I had to wager a guess, there is a mistake in your bindings. If not, though, it would be helpful to hear what other changes you have made to your game since the last time it worked (like Sonny_Resetti said).

OK.....Well what I did was I was trying to make a CPU controlled replica and I'd got it moving but couldn't get the weapon to work because some trouble with the smartzones. I downloaded something that made my RA2 crash trying to get the smartzones. So I copied the AI and bindings folders so I wouldn't have to spend ages going through bindings and all the rest of it, then pasted the folders into my safe copy of RA2 DSL, replacing the old ones. I think it was working(except I hadn't got smartzones yet) and then I used cheatbot 2 to get the smartzone and exported the bot,copied it and let it replace the old Arena killer (the robot I'm replicating) and renamed it 'bot2', like the old Arena Killer was and now whenever I try to use the CPU controlled Arena Killer it says 'abnormal program terminentation' and closes the game.

Hmm, is your bot's name exactly the same as it's written in the bindings?  It is case sensitive.  Also, the 'bot' file, does it have the proper file extension, .bot?

When you say 'bot' file do u mean the folder in robot designs or the one in AI?The one in robot designs is just "Arena killer" but the AI one is "bot2"(It's replacing second sentinal.)

I mean the one in the AI foler. Let me show you.

In the bot file, the name in the "Name" line must match the name in the bindings.  If the spelling (including capitalization) does not match, the game will crash when I attempt to use the CPU controlled Mousetrap

Don't forget spaces... A surprising number of crashes happen because someone put two spaces in their bot's name, or an extra space at the end or something.
