"Problems" with LAN connection.

Alright, so I'm currently trying to get my Windows 7 to be able to play agnest my Windows 7 laptop.
They both can find eachother's LAN games, but when you go to join one of them on either machine via the 'Join Game' button, it says "Joining game" for a split second, and then does nothing. And yes, ive even waited to see if it actually does connect, but it doesn't.
And yes, both of these machines have the same version of RA2(Except for parts from clickbeetle's pack and what-not, but I know that's not the issue)

So what exactly is the problem here?

Usually when the game does that, it means that one or both of the computers are blocking the game via a firewall. I would try turning off the firewall temporarily or adding an exception for RA2.

Just to get it working, make sure BOTH games are pure stock......no mods!
