PLEASE HELP!!

Hello, I was told by some others on multiplayer to download the 1.3/ newest patch from robotarena.com. I did and now when i try to play the game, the screen comes up grey, with my cursor still active. When I minimize it and bring it back up my cursor has become a small white square... I have 3 bots saved to that game and nowhere else, if I reinstall, I'll lose them I think. I worked really hard on them, and it took me a while. Is there anyway at all to fix my game? FYI I dont have the disk, I downloaded the game off the RA2 site. Thanks.

you can always get to your robots even if you can't get into the game.

all robots can be found in one of these folders:
-AI
-Teams
-Robot designs.

Also, the reason the 1.3 patch failed is because you have the downloaded version.  The downloaded version is generally messy and there's not much you can do about it except get the CD version.

Although I think somebody made a UI fix for the downloaded version... not sure where it is though.

EXCEPT:

Inf uploaded a full version of 1.3 RA2.

I think the link is down. I need to fix that. Or inf does. But THAT downloaded version works just as well as the CD version.

Ok, well is there any way to fix my game? I just did a system search, and the 2 bots I actually care about arent there.. i searched under robot designs, and teams.

They won't be named whatever you named them in the Teams folder.  They'll be named Bot0, Bot1, Bot2, etc.  In order to find a particular bot you'll have to go through all of them and open them up in Notepad.  The bot's name will be right at the top.

I deleted it........
We can NOT host the full game on gametechmods and link to it as such.....DO NOT reupload it.

You should be able to install the 1.3 DL version of the patch found here https://gametechmods.com/?do=Patches and that should fix your game. If not you will need to save your Robot designs folder to your desktop (Teams folder if you did not export them in game)and uninstall/reinstall, then patch and replace the Robot Designs folder (or Teams folder) with yours.
 
Download and extract to your desktop and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS....then follow the instructions. (I hate having to tell people to read the damn instructions, but if I don't........)

Well, I repaired RA2 and rebuilt my main HW and managed to recover the other. Thank you for all of the help everyone.
