Hey Guys,

I Just Saw This On The Net http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypOY8TXBhvc# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypOY8TXBhvc#) And Was Wondering How To Do That...

The Reason Why I'm Asking Is Because I Want To Use It To Practice Driving Dantomkia!!!

Can Someone Please Help?

Well, from a technological standpoint, there are only 2 solutions to this.

Either A. He's faking it, or...

B. As you know, the controller for a robot (Or RC Flight Sims, in this case) sends a certain transmission; a transmitter. The RC Flight Sim plane is a Reciever, which recieves the signal, and then responds to the transmission accordingly. With a bit of techno know-how, you could take the reciever out of an RC Flight Sim and hook it up to a computer, either via USB, or hardwiring it directly into your computer. This would then send the signal to the reciever, as usual, but would then correspond it with the PC, much like a game controller.

But, wouldn't it just be cheaper to just get a game controller?

TL;DR, read Gropaga's post.

He's using the trainer port with the programing cable.
And that radio is barely over 20 US dollars.

I use my PS3 controller on RA2, I imagine, once hooked up, it shouldn't be too hard for that.

The guy specifically wants to be able to use his hobby controller that he uses with his bot to get better used the that controller. Telling him to use other controllers isn't going to cut it.

On the subject of game controllers, I watched a video in MikeNCR's real robotics thread that he fought a guy at Dragon*Con that was using a PlayStation controller modified for radio control to drive his bot. I thought it was a pretty nifty idea.
