Title: RA2 not working with vista 64bit

I've tried to install Robot Arena 2: Design and Destroy. After a successful install, I'd click on the .exe file to run the game and a black screen appears. I can NOT close the screen with ctrl+alt+delete or alt+tab, neither can I restart the computer buy pressing the physical button, thus forcing me to turn my computer off at the mains.

System specs:

Vista Home Premium x64
Intel Dual Core E7400
4GB RAM
NVIDIA 9800GT

I've tried running in compatibility mode (XP service pack 2) and they still don't work. Is it possible that the game is simply unable to be used with Vista at all?

try reinstalling... did you buy the game?

Post by: SDMek on April 22, 2009, 05:54:24 AM: Yes, that's why I said 64 bit in the thread title. Also, this has happened with another game (C&C Generals: Zero Hour) and it seems to work ok on my bro's computer with XP.

If it was merely an installation problem, I'd imagine that it would just come up with some sort of error message, rather than freezing the entire system.
