Title: RA2 download not working properly!

Hello!

I've been talking to somebody who wants to make a robot to enter my new series. I sent him to this site and the download link for the full game. However, he says that it doesn't work properly and contains a virus. Could somebody with the power please check this? =)

do you have the link for starters? are you just using the stock 1.4 DL on this site?

Some antivirus software doesn't like one of the files for some reason. It's perfectly fine to run though.

Everything in our downloads section is totally clear. It's a false negative.

It may be the Gamespy online client hidden in the game's files. I think this has turned up before.

Me: If you go to GameTechMods website, you can download the game Robot Arena 2 for free. Then you'll be able to find good tutorials for building a robot on YouTube =)

Him: Well, I have been trying for the past little while and all I've gotten are viruses. Haha.. I went to the official page and it doesn't actually run the game. Says I'm missing a Python program. When I downloaded what they said I needed, I got a virus, thankfully my computer picked up on it! Do you have any ideas?

Him: Yes, sir! That was the first link I tried, and it didn't download an actual file, but a link to a file, which is what gave me the virus. Haha

It's a .rar file, so I don't know what this 'link' is. Maybe he just needs 7-zip to open it.

Moved to the relevant area.
There are no viruses, and they're trying to play without extracting from the .rar file if that Python error comes up.

Just get your friend to get a free .rar opening software. Personally, I use one called "rar opening knife". No idea where I found it, though  :dumb)

I've linked him to this forum page, so he'll see wha we're typing.

I asked him if he had a .rar extractor.

Him: It still won't let me access the files that I have. The .rar. is working, but the file just sends me back to the download screen. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
