Hello,
I've just bought RA2 from the online gamestop site, and it links me to the RA2 site for the download. I download a file called: RobotArena2-dm.
When it starts up it IMMEDIATELY says there's technically problems and I should contact customer support. Problem beeing I can't find any customer support to mail to from the Robot Arena 2 site. (Not complaining, just explaining why i'm posting this on the forums rather mailing CS).
How can I download my game properly?
* Also checking http://www.trymedia.com for support. Still, any help from here would be great.
* Downloaded from TPB. Hoping it works.
^Is legal when you actually bought a copy, right?
-
Well, yeah.. it's legal. But with half of the members offering a free, fully patched and ready to go copy of the game in public sight (Atari doesn't exactly care about RA2 anymore) it'd be pointless to actually buy it.
-
Thanks for the quick reply, so RA2 is technically freeware?
Liked to have known that earlier, but oh well, I prefer to buy small games anyway then download them.

Check System32's signature. Download the link there and you'll get the full game. If you encounter some more problems, just post it here and we'll help you out. :D

More like abandonware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware).

Yeah, maybe RA2 should be added to these sites?

I found quite a load of old school games there that brought back memories. For example, The Incredible Machine FTW!
-
Hehe, I've played that...

For example, The Incredible Machine FTW!
I recently beat all of the TIM3 levels which I couldn't do when I first played this game. I was so proud of myself.
If you like this type of games, check out Crazy Machines. It's got fancy Ageia PhysX stuff and whatnot.

That game pwns.
So much.

New to the game and the forum...
I too am having the problem with TryGames Download Manager. I noted this post and went on the link and downloaded the zip file, but now am not sure where to extract the files to. I also didn't find a setup file (other than Gamespy) in the zip folder... any suggestions/assistance with this admittedly basic question would be appreciated.. strangely ironic to have downloaded a free version of the game and not be able to install it I know...
Thanks!

make a folder in System Files called Infogrames
(that isnt essential but its better in the long run as some people refer to this folder)
then extract the zip into there, no need to set up just hit Robot Arena 2.exe and play :-D
-
Well actually it is Program Files
You can extract it anywhere, but usually it goes in C:\Program Files and it should create a folder named C:\Program Files\Infogrames and inside it you should find C:\Program Files\Infogrames/Robot Arena 2
Open the folder and right click the Robot Arena 2 icon and select Send to: Desktop (Make copy) and the icon you put on your desktop will launch the game. You rename it Robot Arena 2 stock.....when you download DSL (or Starcore), do the same and name it Robot Arena 2 DSL (or whatever)
