Title: RA2 Crashes when starting up...
Post by: Jonzu95 on January 30, 2012, 05:02:39 AM
So, It's been a while since I had problems with RA2.

The problem is that my RA2 DSL crashes when I start it up... I have no idea why. O_o

Do you have another .CFZ file? If you do copy and paste it into your DSL folder and overwrite the old one. If you don't here's (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/8313RA2.rar) a known working .CFZ file.

Nope. Not working. When I open RA2, there comes the first image, and after 5 seconds it crashes.

It may be a problem with the bindings. Check the Bindings.py file, and make sure you've got all the Python files that the bots use, that they're all spelt correctly, and there's no syntax errors in the bindings lines.

How can you tell? I have done none file modifying lately to RA2... I build Hoonigan yesterday, and RA2 worked normally. Then I tried to open it today but it crashed...

It may sound weird but restarting your PC sometimes fixes it for no apparent reason.

If you have done any recent AI'ing, there might be a problem. I would then just the last team's binding's. It's happened to me before.

I've had this problem before myself. What I do is I download a fresh copy of DSL, import my Robot Designs, Teams and Textures over from the broken copy, run the fresh copy, now with the Teams, Robots and Textures, and ey voila!

Had that in mind...

...now I need to think where I can get clean copy... Was it from Sage's Sig?

Yes, this is generally a good solution.
