Title: Problem with Tanto in Robot Wars Mod
Post by: Battlebotsboy on May 10, 2016, 07:29:26 PM
For some odd reason, the motors Tanto's using are programmed backwards; as in, the AI Tanto keeps driving backwards, and when I use Tanto, I had to wire the motors backward so I can drive forward. Is there any way to fix this?

Are you running the patched version from the day after expansion release? It should say 'patched' on one of the loadup screens.

It made no difference.

Best advice I can offer is to reverse the analog controls on Tanto and export the modified bot into the respective AI folder with its proper name (should be Bot1 or Bot2 in the RWAI pack). With any luck, the game shouldn't crash provided you don't modify anything else concerning the bot.

I tried that as well, still didn't help.

Have you tried modifying the forward heading on Tanto and then exporting it into the AI folder?

That also did not work.

By not working, does the game crash when you try to use Tanto in an AI battle, or does Tanto still drive backward instead of forward?

The folder is Team42, which is Immersion Robotics. You want to replace the Bot2 file in that folder. You may have accidentally modified another robot by mistake.

No, I've been using the right folder & bot. I double-checked to make sure.

I've noticed that some of the AI robots and the replicas in the 'Robot Designs' folder are actually different (this is usually indicated by the weight; I noticed Replica Ripper was heavier than AI Ripper) so have you tried

copying the AI Tanto bot file,
pasting that into the 'Robot Designs' folder,
modifying the forward heading on that robot / re-wiring the controls on that robot,
then exporting it and putting it back in the Team42 folder?

If that doesn't work, you may want to try re-downloading the mod, seeing as the Tanto Fix thingy Craaig uploaded hasn't worked either.

Oh- Damnit, ninja'd by the man himself!
