So I just downloaded the 4 battlebots downloads on here for the robot arena 2. I got the winrar and extracted everything with it. Everything is on my desktop but how do I get the battlebots robots and stuff into the game? Oh and can someone put it in easy understandable language for those of us who are computer illiterate.
-
Since when computer illiterate people do use Internet?
It's basically similar to installing DSL. And search the forums. Please.
-
Well, that I can do. I have searched on the forums for how to get the noew robots and weapons and stuff into the game but I can't find anything to help me. Plus I'm new here, is there help for me?
-
Open up the RA2 progamme files document, and you should see something like battlebots AI pack or that, move the documents to the RA2 file then fire up the game.
I cant make it any more understandable than that.
(I did have it installed once, the battlebots pack, its okay...)

So, I opened the extracted file and I have, Aceuplink, ai, arenas, components, sounds teams and a couple of other files that are cfz. Now, for example, the "components" file. I just put it into the folder on my desktop that says, "shortcut to robot arena 2"? I don't have to put the extracted"components" file into the "components" file in the shortcut to ra2? I have a few extra spaces in the extra weapons category in the game but there is no picture or anything to click on. Sorry for being so confusing. I tried the tutorials but it doesn't answer your questions for you.

It's just like installing DSL.
Make a backup (save) of your regular RA2 game in case the Battlebots AI pack crashes your game.
Then decompress the RAR file into a folder, and then copy/paste all the things that are on the folder (previously contained in the RAR) in your main RA2 folder (basically, in order to overwrite all of them), default C:/Program Files/Infogrames/Robot Arena 2/.
-
I never installed dsl lol. Back to the components example. Its a folder, like you said. You said turn it to a folder, and it is. When you say overwrite, are you saying to take out the old one? I dropped the rar file "components" into my "components" file in the game, is that what I do? I tried taking everything in the rar file "components" and pasting it into the "components" file in the game but that didn't work. What am i doing wrong? or what am I just not doing?

Find the tuto for DSL and follow the example. It's the same thing.
-
whats dsl stand for? is that different from the winrar?
-
DSL stands for darkrat starcore lu-tze. (i think) they are argueably the 3 people that have given most to the RA2 community
-
Lu-tze, LU-TZE!
-
that's what i said...
-
No, to said Lut-ze. it's Lu-Tze!
-
He said Lu-tze.
Edit: Nevermind, guess he edited it.
-
Ok, so I gave up on the battlebots stuff. I downloaded the file in the arenas lut-ze robot wars arena. Its just one item. I used winrar to extract it and put it in the file titled "arenas" in my ra2 file and started the game and tried an exibition and its not there. Why not? Whta did I do wrong?
