JX Burst Motor - some parts don't attach ...
« on: July 01, 2006, 02:37:47 AM »
Why doesn't the flipper maker attach to the JX Burst motor?

Several other parts that don't directly attach are:
the Emergency flipper
the angle connector
the multi-angle connector
the spiked club
the icepick
the spike strip
Matilda's weapon
Slap Happy's blade
the Diablo Triple Bar
the Panic Attack flipper and top piece
the Complete Control arm and weapon
the forklift arm

Oddly though, discs and rotater bars DO attach directly to the burst motors :

As you can plainly see, those are the Beta Burst, the JX, and the BSG-200s, all with some sort of spinner attachment on them.  The pistons are the Storm burst piston and the VDMA servo and burst pistons, and those are DSL tribars on them.

P.S. No, that's not a "cheat" disc - someone just rebuilt it with a better skin ...

*stares at you for a moment*
And I could say that you're lucky to find the "power" button on your computer, good sir, but I don't feel like getting in a flame war right now, thanks.

These were things I happened to notice in the course of the game, and wanted to bring them to someone's attention - perhaps they are things no one else realized.  Obviously you have already discovered these things, so my post should not concern you, but the others who do not know about them.

I meant that as in, "I cannot get to the bot menu, you're lucky it works for you". Mine crashes when I try to make a new team, though I think that may have something to do with the fact that I used the exe for the downloaded version when I technically had the CD version. I was not trying to enter a flamewar; I was mostly complimenting you on your installing skills.

And one more thing.

When you attach slim motor on its round side and when you pick a T connector, you can place it to slim motor's side where is its second attaching point.

Did I make myself clear?
I was Da beta tester Da da dada DA, Da. And that felt good.

Okay, that I can accept.  I hope you'll accept my apology, I took your post the wrong way.

How did you try installing the game?  Did you install it directly to your RA2 folder, or did you make a separate folder and drag the stuff over, replacing everything that way?  the second way is the one to use, btw ...

Many of the old components were totally overhauled for 2.0.  I think most, if not all of those attach point problems are fixed.

I do wonder how you attached the Nightmare disc.  I can click on it and I can load Nightmare, but try to attach the disc to something and the game craps out.  If that didn't happen, I would have made it a stock part or at least a cheatbot2 part.

Odd ...... mine worked just fine when i clicked on the nightmare disc. I don't know what the difference would be, unless somehow i managed to get a different version of the file.  I had the disc way back on the original RA2, too, and I don't think i copied it straight over - i think i used the one that came with DSL TC.
