This better not be a prank i'm not in on. They say they can't read my text and on top of that, my name is aligned weirdly.
-
Does this always happen, or was it just a one-time thing?
Only thing I can think of is that the multiplayer gib files might be corrupted. If you still have stock RA2 installed, try copying the mp gib files from there to DSL.
-
This is the first time i've ever seen it happen. And yes, it's persistant so it isn't going away when I restart RA2.
-
Yeah and above all that mean2u's name didn't show up in my player list.
There was just an empty space where his name should have been and we saw his texts just like this [mean2u
And then only empty line between next and his previous text.
-
Where are the "multiplayer gib files" located?
-
Very easily and quickly found. *.gib to search and buff. Your-game-folder/UI/Multiplayer and there. <) There you go.
-
I copied the multiplayer folder from my original RA2 to the DSL one and it's still broken.
-
Does even your original copy of the game work properly in multiplayer. If not then format your whole hard drive and reinstall all.
No not seriously but if even the original version of them game doesn't work correctly in multiplayer then there's something wrong somewhere else than in your game directory.
-
Yeah, the chat in my original RA2 works perfectly. I was gonna have Ham check it for me but he was being.. hammy.. again.
-
That missing bracket at the end of your name is suspicious. Have you changed your multiplayer name recently? Try opening RA2.cfg (in your main RA2 folder) and find the line where it has your multiplayer name. If there's anything weird like spaces after it or something, get rid of them.
-
No spaces, just some odd symbols. I think that part got corrupted or something.

Edit: I deleted all the odd symbols, awaiting someone to come test with me.
